  2. What ever you do, do not use the Desert Storm color.
  3. Just got one (6'8" MH) & fished it for the first time this weekend. I found it very light & sensitive. At the price point, I was somewhat skeptical compared to other rods, but I found an ebay retailer that sells for $60.00 to $80.00 off depending on the rod. At that price, it performed well above my expectations.
  4. Rage Menace for me.
  5. Like most creature baits, I think the first thing they imitate is a craw. I fish them that way. For me, the smaller one as a trailer on a Santone 5/16 oz finesse jig has worked really well. They also work for me on a stand-up jig head.
  6. Not on BP web site, but they were in my local store. If you need to order, go here: http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Rage-Tail-Structure-Bug-104.htm
  7. I use the *** Blacks but did pick up an irod 754 Fred's Frog Rod on Craigslist for $50.00 to try. Glad I did - as others have said it is a very versatile stick
  8. I have 2 pairs of the Strike King S11's - 1 amber & one grey. I like them so much that I use them for everyday use. Got them for less than $40 each.
  9. I've got the 754 Frog rod. In my opinion it performs far beyond it's price point. I would expect the others in the line to do the same.
  10. My local DSG today had a very good selection of Yamamoto baits, buy 1 get 1 free. They had 4" & 5" Senkos, Flappin' Hogs & swimbaits - all in several colors.
  11. The Academy's in my area have the Matzuo Xtra Wide Gap Sickle worm hooks in several sizes - 25 pack for $2.99. I have not been disappointed with the performance.
  12. I had a guide friend years ago on Toledo Bend that used the small lizard on a short C-Rig, maybe 12-18". He called it his "limit finder". I think that's now called the Mojo as stated above. I have to agree with him.
  13. Yep - my first ride I bought in 73, a 1972 C10 - 557K miles - in the process of restoring her now!
  14. I agree with all of your comments. Of the recent breakage I was referring to, I was only a witness to 4 of them. The 2 I broke, one on a hook set with fluro & one casting a swim jig were replaced under warranty. The other 2 were with 2 different draw partners & broke while fighting fish. One of those was replaced under warranty & the other was out of warranty, although they replaced it with a $45.00 charge. You are correct that neglecting to care for the rods will result in premature failure. I'm not rich, so I baby my gear. I've been fishing with these guys for about 7 years & have never witnessed this much failure in a short period of time. Hopefully it's just an anomaly And to the King, you are correct about All Star. That's why I still have my original WR1. That & my Castaway East Texas Grass Rake are 2 rods I will never give up. Funny about the Castaway rod, I went to the Bassmaster Classic this year & talked to the Castaway guys in their booth. We talked about the Grass Rake & they told me they still have enough of the original blanks to make a production run if I could get enough orders LOL!
  15. I fish in a small club with monthly tournaments. Some of the guys fish in other area tournaments. Lately we have had a rash of rod breakage. I have broken 2 myself (while fishing). Overall the rods that have broken have ranged from $120 to $300 each & are all different brands. Most that have broken have been in the higher range. It could be just a bad streak, but I am curious as to any other experiences. The rods at issue are all relatively new, with one about 2 years old, the rest a year or less. When I first started bass fishing, I used Berkley Lightning Rods, of which I still have 2. Moved up to All Star Rods - I still have my original WR1. It seems quality has decreased with the newer, high tech materials & processes. Interested to hear others thoughts. Tight lines!
  16. Only if sales do not increase - let's hope they do so the pricing stays the same.
  17. They just posted this on FB - they're coming! https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=677590935611188&set=a.114907398546214.8087.111231085580512&type=1&theater
  18. Here you go! http://www.*.com/Savage-Gear-3D-Line-Thru-Trout-p/savagegear-3dlttrout.htm This is the top hook version - I don't think the bottom hook is available in the US yet. But they need to hurry!
  19. Monster has 4 colors in stock. I would post the link but they are not a sponsor.
  20. Whatever you do, don't use them on a shakey head.......
  21. No need to go anywhere else. Quality & great service in what is quickly becoming a one stop source for essential baits & tackle.
  22. You can fish it like any other creature bait, but it really excels with a Biffle head or any of the other swing-head jigs fished like a crank bait on the bottom.

  24. Actually the video is for a new underwater camera, but the lure action & fish behavior is an eye opener. Enjoy!
  25. Going way back, I fell in love with the Castaway "East Texas Grass Rake" - the original "punching" rod. I had 2 - one was stolen from my boat while getting gas at a marina. I look on ebay at least once a week for another one. The new Invicta series with the golf grip is sweet!
