  1. +1 - very good bait for the $.
  2. Penetration Hooks has the longer shank hooks as well.
  3. Great bait for heavily pressured waters. You'll get a tank every now & then too!
  4. Several Walmart's in my area are closing out the Berkley Lightning Rod Shocks & the Jimmy Houston rods for $25.00. The Houston rods surprised me with their quality.
  5. +1 on the Winn Grips. I have changed 3 of my rods after watching the Russ Lane video on YouTube. Also Lew's & Cabelas have the only rods I know of that come with Winn Grips.
  6. Southwest Parts in Dallas has the Black Max for $40.00 on close out.
  7. I can't say that the bead caused your problem, but I do not use one when I rig it & have not experienced your problem.
  8. Plus, the make a weedless version also. Great swimbait head!
  9. This is my new favorite way to rig big soft plastics - Buckeye Magnum Goby Sled.
  10. Buckeye makes a weedless swimbait head.
  11. Although a great bait, the 90 size will do this. I've experienced it myself. You are doing the right thing. I've gone to the 130 almost exclusively because of this, plus it gets bigger bites for me.
  12. +1 - definitely change out the hooks.
  13. They are a good value. Even though they have VMC hooks, I have had better results changing them to a 2X short Gammy (or brand of your preference). The Bluegill is my fav!
  14. My experience is only the ones labeled "Original Trick Worm" do. The rest are loaded with salt (and say so on the package) & will slowly fall flat. Regardless, both are excellent baits.
  15. Flea Bay has some sellers but even they are out of stock on a lot of colors. Hot bait right now!
  16. Straight 20# braid if I can get away with it. But just in case, I have 20# yellow braid with a Grand Slam Select co-poly leader. The yellow braid helps my old eyes detect subtle strikes.
  17. +2 on the Havoc Subwoofer. Great thump & cheap!
  18. This: http://www.***.com/Kicker_Fish_Bubble_Fry_4_10pk/descpage-KFBF.html
  19. I'm a huge fan of the M-Pack Lures swim jig. The weed guard design is awesome. Bluegill is an awesome color.
  20. Saved a lot of bad days with the Cavitron 1/8 oz black/black on a spinning rod with 20# braid. If I'm fishing reeds or other above water vegetation where getting hung is an issue, I throw the D&M Buzz Saw in Black Widow/Black since it is weedless.
  21. Got some 3/0 & 4/0 EWG Gammys for .48 a package today! Love the Wally World Closeout bins!!
  22. I use the bright yellow braid with my leader. I notice subtle movements much better with it.
  23. I saw the prototypes at the Classic in Tulsa. Steve was there in the SK booth with nothing but these baits. Although he stressed that these were pre-production, he did mention the flange would be on the reversed ribs also. Can you check yours please?
