  1. are you trying to say that fishing is more physical than baseball?
  2. Looks like a great time, what were you catching them on?
  3. Im the complete opposite. House and devils just grossed me out with all the gore, it didnt particularly frighten me (that clown was a little freaky). However anything paranormal i really like. Although i really like the original halloween/ friday the 13 and they arent very paranormal. I think i see so much serial killing/ pyschos in the news that by the time i go to watching a movie im sick of crazy people. Are you a hostel fan? That one made me not want to leave the country for a while.
  4. God i hated those movies, especially his halloween remakes. Momma was pretty good, I think sinister was the best thing to come out lately. I wasnt a huge fan of the original evil dead, im not really a comedy/horror person. I think they should of probably waited a year or so more before bringing evil dead out when cabin in the woods just was released to dvd. They are so close its not even funny.
  5. Offset wide gaps and plastics. Pretty much all i throw in heavy weeds. If you can cast cranks with out catching weeds, do that and try to match the lure with what baby fish you see running around.
  6. Back in highschool a bunch of friends and i would ditch school and go fish the river. Afterwards we would go to someones house, crack open some beers and grill some burgers. I wish i could go back in time and slap the hell out of myself for always wishing i was older.......
  7. I guess i've been living in a fantasy world i was honestly surprised to hear that anybody had an issue with fishing.
  8. It didnt feel balanced when i put it on the pole which was bothering me a lot. Its up for sale in the flew market now.
  9. If that kind of stuff bothers you so much, i suggest staying far away from golf.
  10. Trust me i have gone down that road before with deer hunting and i never will again. I am just interested how fisherman/woman are perceived through out the country. To be honest i never gave it any thought before until i read that article. Around here the only thing people ever say to me is to ask me if i caught anything or to tell me spots they have had luck with .
  11. Well looks like i have a new thing to add to my bucket list
  12. Even the first sentence, "catch and release fishing is cruelty disguised as a sport"?
  13. You cant hate on panthers fans too much, they have jimmy clausen on their team. Isnt that punishment enough? How did you handle it when you were called a murderer?
  14. an animal rights activist? Today i was reading the peta site for some laughs and i ran across this. http://www.banned site/about/why-peta/catch-and-release-fishing.aspx I know hunters encounter it,but i wondered if you've ever been approached while fishing. I personally never have. But here in the midwest i dont think we have as many vegans/ animal rights activists, although i probably could eat fresh corn every meal.
  15. You dont have any issues running braid that small? what kind of braid are you using?
  16. oh nice! with my luck the person behind me would pull up and take my spot.
  17. I just ordered a 20 size so i guess ill throw this one up for sale on here if anyone wants it.
  18. i dont get it, wasnt the tundra doing the same as the mini van?
  19. If shes asking if its too big, you might have an issue. Unless your into things like that. I was really wanting to run 4lb test and actually have to fight the fish instead of horsing it in. But i dont want to fill it it 195 yards . That just seems insane.
  20. I have an ultra light 5'6" laying around so i ordered a reel for it off ebay. Its a pflueger gx7 4730 gx 195/4 115/6 and 100/8. It feels a little big. I thought about saving it for another rod but i already have 3 spinning setups and i really dont need another. Obviously it will work but my question is it too much reel for the rod? Or will it be a good setup?
  21. dawn if i can get up. night time is when all the crazies come out.
  22. this makes me feel better about having a hard time hooking up with bass lately. Glad im not the only one.
  23. Oh i would prefer hooking into a smallie any day, but for now im content just catching things until i get a hang of it a little more.
  24. Ive been practicing casting a lot in my backyard over the past year, but could never really find a good spot to fly fish. Well ive been fishing a new pond that hasn't been producing very well for me. The cool thing is that at one time it was actually two ponds that the made into 1 by flooding it. Because of this right down the middle is like a sand bar about 1-2 ft deep that you can walk down and cast both sides. I was having issue with a lot of the small blue gill destroying the small flies ( first fish on a fly rod). So i went with one of those tiny poppers. First cast with it and fish on. No records or anything and most likely under 1lb but still feels good. I have to say it was much harder to fish than i thought. Setting the hook was odd, and most of the time i wasnt sure whether or not i should be reeling the fishing in or pulling it in. With the bass i kept tension on the line but slowly let it out letting him run a little so i could work the reel. I have to say my arm got a hell of a work out, and a couple of the really small bluegill got the ride of their life when i set the hook and rocketed them out of the water. If you havent given fly fishing for bass (or anything) a try, then i definitely suggest doing so!
  25. i ended up keeping the crocs, i still may order actual shoes but for now i guess these will do. Although i will admit the squeek when you get them wet which is annoying walking from spots. Also they arent exactly the best for walking over anything with algae. I attempted to walk on a submerged tree and ended up waist deep in water.
