  1. I wish we didnt have to share everything to be entered into the contest. I hate when people over share things, and i usually end up hiding their posts from my feeds. So because of that i dont want to flood peoples walls with shares.
  2. Thanks guys! I've had it less than a month so im going to call basspro and try to get it returned. I'll definatly look you up this winter dvt and have you work some magic with the new one.
  3. My buddy pulled his up with his smartphone once, when he forgot his at home. Have you tried that?
  4. I noticed i can feel a slight knocking in my my bps pq when i get the line wet. I can toss lead weights out all day in the backyard and it reels fine. But after a couple casts into the water i start to feel it knocking. Is this normal? If it matters im running 12lb stren mono.
  5. as others have said that is a smallie, being a river fish is probably why its so slender. constantly swimming in moving water would be quite the workout.
  6. I wouldnt of. Maybe that makes me a bad fisherman but if i was really concerned i would of never said anything to the man and just called dnr. Although the dnr here are useless so i probably wouldnt of even wasted my time. I don't know what the mans circumstances are. Maybe he fishes to feed his family?
  7. when i get skunked, i do get a little irritated because i start to question what im doing wrong. IMO the fish are always biting just not what im throwing. Before i joined this forum it was extremely rare if i caught anything, i never got frustrated because i went home empty more days than not.
  8. round reel, I dont have any of those yet. And the features i really want are a line out alarm and the ability for it to free spin. Dont really have any price range but id like to keep it under 100 if possible.
  9. ya thats exactly what i thought. The pole just screams catfishing to me. Now i just need to figure out a good conventional reel to go with.
  10. Are you a complete begginner and have never fished before? If so id suggest a spinning reel setup. baitcasting could get really discouraging for some. Plus fishing from the shore you might encounter a lot of weeds, where you are going to want to fish a weedless worm. spinning will be much much easier to cast those.
  11. this is the only picture i could find of the same model on ebay. I was under the impression that a rod equiped with a spincast reel had to have bigger guides on it? If not then ive been concerned over nothing
  12. Im sick of bank fishing. Today i had a ton of birds nests because the spots i was fishing had trees directly behind them which caused me to screw up my casting. Two large dogs (seperate times) ran full bore at me, and a fight broke out in the middle of the park. Id love to find a place no one fishes or get a bass boat to get away from all these crazies.
  13. this is probably what ill end up doing im just worried the guides may cause some issues. Guess ill have to try it out and see.
  14. all the reviews ive read on it claim it rolls way to much
  15. maybe try returning it to bps ?
  16. so what your saying is before storm good, after storm bad? Ive always been confused with when to fish. I have a lot of luck before storms, but just yesterday i had a slow day directly after it stormed.
  17. If i wanted my power pro to get any stronger id get a steel chain and paint it green
  18. I have an old spincast rod thats 6'6" medium heavy action. Its got an extremely long handle which makes it a real pain to fish it for a long time. I was thinking about putting a conventional reel on it and using it for night catfishing. Would the fact that its a spincast rod and the guides are (im assuming) bigger than normal casting rods cause any issue? Im not looking too cast any extreme distances or anything.
  19. i just got a new 13...I love it
  20. sounds like the elusive spooted bass
  21. smallies are a blast. I love fishing for them here. I hate to be a ball buster but i also dont think that was a 4lber. Its a great first smallie though. I think the record is only 7lbs for indiana.
  22. I dont understand why more people dont fish the left handed casters. What advantage do you have by casting with your right and then switching the rod to your left? I would think real left handers would find right handed baitcasters to be a better fit for them. This is how i feel reeling with my right hand
  23. i have a president. I like it a lot. Im going to have to get me one of those ugly stiks when they come out. They arent so ugly any more.
  24. I think a lot of times we over think how smart fish are.
