Curado 50
After a few trips with this reel, I see no reason to buy a Core 50 anymore.

Fed Nation or TBF?
The first question you need to ask yourself is why you want to affiliate in the first place. For the chance to advance to state and national competitions? If you're not interested in that, there's no reason to affiliate with either. I have no experience with the Fed Nation, but have interacted with TBF quite a bit over the last year and a half. Haven't had any problems and they've always been prompt in answering my questions.

Curado 50
My initial impression after receiving the reel was that it was a disappointment. Didn't feel all that good. After fishing it last night, I am amazed. Aside from the few cosmetic differences, I would have sworn I was using a Core 50. It didn't really exhibit the usual 'out of the box' sluggishness. Spent the night using the 50 on a Kistler Helium II. Filled it with 12 lb. PLine CXX, tied on a 1/8 oz. bullet weight and rotated between three or four different craw/creature baits. Casting performance was excellent and I accidentally threw on top of a couple of boat houses due to not being familiar with the reel. I'll simply call it the Poor Man's Core 50.

My Curoado 50 E arrived today
Can you take some pics of them next to your Core? Why? They're identical reels. There are minor differences, but one is aluminum, one is magnesium. Why not? Without seeing them side by side how would I have known they are identical? By looking at the frames? I am referring to your assumption that somehow I should know they are identical. Pretty d**n obvious.

Got two in today, not really all that impressed. Disappointed that Shimano did not stick with what made the Curado different, the handle knobs.

Severely lacking on the zombie end of things. Could have been great.

Davis Baits?
They're a nice enough jig. Quality hook and paint on the head. Skirts are good enough. Just don't see the price though. They're one of the more expensive jigs I've used. Like the recessed line tie and the rattle.

Nugget thief!
Shorewood Police arrest teen suspected of stealing chicken nuggets WITI-TV, SHOREWOOD - Sharing or trading food during school lunchtime is not unheard of, but sharing landed one teenager in police handcuffs. Ava Hernandez got a disturbing voicemail message from the Assistant Principal of Shorewood High School in March. Her 15-year-old brother Adam has been taken into police custody. She says, "It was because his friend had shared a lunch with him and he was accused of stealing was really, I don't know, it was just over the top." Adam was accused of stealing chicken nuggets from a $2.60 meal. Those are the nuggets his friend, Gakaree Garner, gave to him. Garner says, "Although that month I was fasting so I couldn't eat meat, and we had chicken nuggets that day." Garner gave the nuggets to Adam, who got in the lunch line to get some sauce for them. According to Garner and the police report the cafeteria cashier told the Assistant Principal Adam stole the chicken nuggets. The Assistant Principal then told the police officer in the school, who called a squad car. Garner says, "They actually put him in handcuffs, and actually tried to force him into the car." Ava Hernandez says, "They were like, 'Well do you know that friend receives federally free lunch?', and I said, 'I do now.', and they said, 'Well, it's illegal to share a free lunch so either way Adam was breaking the law'." Adam was issued a municipal citation for theft and a $170.00 fine, which he chose to fight in court to keep his record clean. A youth group Urban Underground trumpets Adam's cause, fighting against young people needlessly being put in the judicial system. After garnering media attention the Shorewood Police Chief and High School Principal decided to withdraw the theft charges against Adam Hernandez, thus canceling scheduled court proceedings. http://www.fox6now.com/news/witi-100719-chicken-nugget-caper,0,5907552.story

From that link: Those rubber nets are nice, no tangles. But they're too shallow for anything bigger than a 2-3 pound fish.

Wright and McGill Skeet Reese model rods?...
That particular model is a great light crankbait rod. I bought it specifically for that purpose. Over the last couple of months, I have been using it to chunk 1/2 and 3/4 oz. spinnerbaits and I have to say it has done a fine job with that as well. While I wouldn't use it with a worm (although I'm going to give it a try next weekend), it is a good rod for the above things. I've also used it a bit to throw a Spook. Didn't do bad with that either.
