Caught my PB 4.5#er on a 5" wacky style worm.....

Brian, you obviously have more experience than most of us. The golf course I fish at may just be friendly or don't really care. Honestly, i've never been asked to leave and talk to many golfers as they are leaving with friendly conversation. This isn't the case with every golf course. It wont hurt to ask prior to fishing in it.

BINGO! I alwalys tell my friends... The more convenient, the less fish there is. OP, you're ok on in that pond. I've fished ponds well into the course compared to that. You will be asked to leave is the worse case, but i don't see that happening there.

How is everyone doing in this heat? I went out for a bit yesterday in the morning and had minimal luck. Shore fishing is tough in this weather. Lows 80s today. Will hit the waters tonight.

Yes. It works great for me as well. There aren't many conditions where I fish a senko slow, which goes against what many people say. After the initial pause after my cast, I'm there to make noise with the senko. I do fish TR faster than wacky.

I'm kind of curious on why/how the cops told you they were illegal? Usually people just get arrested and thats the end of it. To the OP... you had the courage to do the right thing. Some people just need to look a little beyond their normal life. Once the fish are gone in certain lakes, there's a giant consequence that we face. Everything on this earth was put here to create balance. And the bass is put there to eat the bugs that eat me while i'm trying to fish.

I'm sure they can ask. If you don't have one, they will just call DNR. I don't think they can enforce anything. I know of many officers that are fisherman. I'm sure they probably check here and there.

I take a picture of it with my phone incase i lose mine. I always have my phone on me. Just like everyone else, mine is at the bottom of my tackle box.

I agree that competition definitely adds or creates emotions. Just like most of us, if I am driving far and spending some dough on gas.... i would definietly be ticked. I like seeing the competitiveness out of us. I believe it's what drives us to learn and better ourselves. At the end of the day, make sure we all enoy the sport. It is meant to relax us at times.... or a reason to escape from the house.

When I first started fishing seriously about 3 months ago, I use to get very annoyed/aggravated if I didn't get any bites. After a few months of learning religiously on this forum and through fishing, i've been pretty successful with landing decent fish just about everytime i go out. So it hit me last night. My girlfriend asked if I caught anything. I said no, the fish just wasn't in the mood to bite. No frustration. It might just be confidence thing. After trying wacky style, texas style, walking the frog..... if nothing bites, it's ok. Anyone feel like this or am I crazy? When I had the fishing bug, I litterally hit the water about 4-5 times a week. Did that for 2 months.

Great tip. I don't know how many times I've lost a fish setting to hook too hard. Almost gave up on the wacky rig all together.

Wacky style with nail weights on each end...just caught my PB 5#er on this three days ago. Used very little, subtle jerks.

Fish a little faster, have them chase a little. What size worm?

I've been very happy with my Mojo Bass from St. Croix. Good sensitivity and balances well with a Symetre.

I just recently decided to really spend time to learn fishing and try to master some techniques before going moving to something else. I'm dedicating this year to softbaits (tubes and worms). Has anyone hit the charles recently?? I am shocked with what i'm pulling in. I've fished the Charles twice this year and have matched or beaten my PB both times. I pulled in a LMB that weighted at a little over 5# yesterday and 2 around the 4# range. Last time I went I caught a SMB at 2# and it was a hell of a fight. Growing up here, I really didnt think the charles was capable of this. I've only caught fish one other time in 5 years.

Yup. My buddy has a stash left and brags about it. I have to trade two bags of whatever he wants for one bag of the 5 pack palm trees. Don't know why GYCB wouldn't just keep making this color. It's would easily be one of the most popular.

I had one that did some nice scraping on my thumb, not enough to draw blood. Caught this LMB in a freshwater river that has been mixed with saltwater. Same description... No stripe.
