Too Much Grease And Oil On A New Reel?
Eh. Not really. Mine wasn't too bad really.OP, flush the 3 spool bearings and reoil. I remember that when I first got a lews TP, it was so stuffed with grease that I couldn't cast a 3/8 oz jig + trailer even 30 feet with the lowest brake setting I could use. Flushed the bearings, and distance was much better and the 3/8 oz jig would go atleast 30 yds. Still not as good as my shimanos though. LOL

Yo Zuri Hybrid
Don't be afraid to step down to 10 #. It is slightly thinner and slightly less strong than the 12 #, but casts better and is more manageable. It's actual breaking strength is probably closer to most brands 12# or even 14# insome cases.

2014 Shimano Crucial
I don't understand shimanos marketing.. With the curado I, it seemed like they forced its release too early and didn't have any reels to sell, especially lefty's. now they decide to update only 2 rods out of the whole series??? Sounds like they are forcing this one out early too. I guess we will have to wait and see if the crucial can redeem shimano in the rod department like the curado I did even though it was forced out too.

Ugh Why St. Croix... Why
ill take 3.

2014 Shimano Crucial
that would be interesting if it was a 50 or 100 size.

Curado I Or Chronarch E?
Curado I casts equal to or better than the E depending on the lure, but you really have to flush the bearings if you want the reel to perform to the max. My curado I was stuffed with grease in the spool bearings and didn't cast as far as an E until I flushed the bearings.

Any Word On A Curado I 50/51?
LOL yeah right

Zillion Rods
Not quite. Regular action is closer to a mod fast.

Any Word On A Curado I 50/51?
Yea I must say that I am too. It is a sweet reel to say the least. However, imagine how great it would be with SVS Infinity and x-ship! We have yet to see a 50/51 with SVS infinity so we can only imagine how nice it would be.

Confession
I switched to braid for EVERYTHING then switched back to copolymer for EVERYTHING. I found that I actually caught 1/2 the Amy of fish with braid as I do with other lines. I believe it has to do with the noise, vibration, and leader knot. Why would a fish eat a jig if there is a pale blob jumping next to it (when the fisherman is jigging the jig)? Also, there is a reason you see guys like Jason Christie and others on tour using mono/fluoro with their bottom baits and swim jigs. I haven't talked much about this on here because I know I'd get blasted, but that's my experience with braid. Ill never use it again except for very heavy cover and possibly spinning reels since you can reel the leader knot up in the spool, therefore moving the leader knot farther away from your fish and allowing your leader to absorb some of the vibration and maybe even noise too.

Any Word On A Curado I 50/51?
I will take several as well. It would be an absolute crime if there wasn't a 50/51 I.

Zillion Rods
The 7'1 tatula in MH has an XF action. It is very stiff and very fast! Good for certain things, but not very versatile.

St. Croix Avid X
I love the avids as they are. Ain't broke so dont fix. Replacing the classic look of the avid with some new style with micro guides and a split grip would be a crime.

Shimano Core
Never sell a 50/51. You will regret it.
-
Shimano Core
I think he is referring to the re-release of the 50/200 E in the chronarch line.

What Is The Best Braid?
How can you say that unless you've used all the braids in the world?? Careful with the superlative words...

What Is The Best Braid?
Sufix 832 is by far the best I've used..

Help With Shimano Sustain 2500 Fg
This is a good opportunity to buy some corrosion resistant bearings too. I too think its a bearing.

Spool Not Rotating! Please Help!
Sounds to me like you didn't seat your yoke and pinion gear correctly.. Take the handle sideplate off, and pull out slowly the pinion gear. The spool should still be in the reel. The yoke and yoke spring should come out with the pinion. Now reassemble it in this order onto the two cylinders that are sticking out: Yoke first, the side that has the small slanted indents goes down While you are sliding that piece, fit the pinion gear in too. Slide all of that stuff down and make sure the gear teeth mesh. Now put the two springs on.

Show off your Stuff
Wow Matt those things are insane!! I love the 51 shimanos too. I hope they make a curado 50/51 i. We still haven't seen SVS infinity in a 50 size yet, no? It's a shame it's been this long already

Tackle Warehouse Sale
That's odd.. I have called an emailed asking if I could do exactly that about 3-4 times, and each time they say they can't do that for me.
-
Tackle Warehouse Sale
You can get the discount if you email them about it too. I'm a PayPal user so I can't phone order so I always email them about honoring the sale.

High Speed Reels Only
I hate losing fish cause I can't catch up to them and they are running at the boat so Most of my reels are 7:1. My slowest reel is 6.4:1.
