  1. Oh I may only post mainly in the bragging rights thread, but I do spend plenty of time killing the down time at work researching all of the forum. Been doing a lot of reading on the etiquette of co-angling. Thinking about joining a bass club!
  2. I was about to stop for a few minutes on the way home from work today. No fish started to rain so I left. Glad you guys decided to axe the 12" min. I like the simple rules of measure/pic. Because it is what I would do anyway if (big if) I caught a fish. Seems to be my luck lately last few trips been skunked Not even a snakehead.
  3. Been taking part in the FL Bragging rights thread for the last two months, thought I'd post up the the intro thread and let everyone know a little more about me. I used to be an avid bass fisherman when I was in high school, 15 years ago, and just this past year have been bitten by the bug again. Bank fishing for now, trying to warm the wifey up to get a small fishing boat, so I can take my daughters out fishing with me. My girls are currently only using bread balls and bobbers for small panfish and catfish. Recently my older girl has been asking to try out fishing for the big one's like me. LOL So hopefully a future BR member. I try to get out at lest once a week even if only for an hour or two. I have found lots of great information and tips on the forum, and have talked to a bunch or really cool people throught the Bragging rights thread. I'd like to thank the site owners and moderators for providing such an enteraining and informative forum. Tight lines and rough thumbs everyone! See you around. Dustin
  4. Nice fish, no idea what it could weight, it's bigger than any bass I ever caught.
  5. I love the color scheme and the color of carpet, sweet boat!
  6. I'm in! Congrats to DEEPdish Panda on the win last month. Good luck to all this months participants!
  7. From a spectator's point of view, you did a good job handling the contests. No objections from myself. Maybe next month I will actually get a fish to post. Thanks for taking your time to post up the running order in a timely manner each day. It made watching the competion from the sidelines enjoyable.
  8. Oh man, that sucks, least you were catching fish. Managed to get out a little on saturday, skunked again.
  9. nice fish tightlines, i managed to get out for about 2 1/2 hrs on tuedays and 4 hrs on wed. skunked both days, had one bite. nothing else to talk about. was fishing at the west end of c-14 and you could have rode the current coming out of the culvert on a surf board lol.
  10. Geez I cant even get on the board this month, doesn't help im holed up in the living room playing GTA V LOL
  11. Thats good stuff, been taking my nine year old daughter out and she recently made the switch from bread balls and brim to t-rigs and bass. still looking for her first!
  12. What is this PP you speak of? I have been using spiderwire (i think) braid and it's fraying really bad, not been happy with it. Would be interested in checking out another type of braid or even flouro.
  13. Man I can't catch a break, I have either only been catching snakeheads... Im still at 0 as well. I went out last sunday off University and Southgate Blvd, casting toward a bridge column, see a bass jump like a foot and a half out of the water and completely miss my spook. LOL Just been the luck I am having lately.
  14. Went out saturday evening with my daughter, trying to teach her bass fishing instead of bread balls, we got skunked! Went out on sunday from about 6am-10am and got skunked again, a couple misses. Tried everything from frogs, t-rig senkos, jerk baits, and super spook jr. What a bummer to get up earlier than I usually do for work on my only day off this week to get skunked. Oh well Dolphins won so there is a silver lining! LOL
  15. Circling the drain was friggin' awesome BassinLou Nice fish being posted up already. Good catches guys. Nothing worth posting yet. Largest so far around 15" but I had gut hooked him and wanted to get him back in the water. And than the Parkland/BSO cops showed up. Took my picture like the paparazzi and told me to pound salt. There wasn't any signs anywhere. OH WELL. I'll keep plugging away at it though!
  16. ^ Agreed... I have had some luck on days like this with a clear super spook jr and i picked up some pad crahser jr's that i cant wait to try out on a nice calm morning
  17. I have been thinking about upping the braid on my rod/reel. I had hooked into something real descent the other day. Line did not snap but the #10 braid must be so thin it pulled out of the little gap in the eye of the hook. 1st time this has ever happened to me. I reeled in the line my frog was still on, the beads were there, and the knot was still tied (no breaks) but the hook and fish was gone. So I either have to step up to a larger diameter line or start using swivels or something like that.
  18. I am in for this month. Went out on sat, only managed to catch two, maybe 10-12 inches, on a whacky rigged senko type worm. not worth a pic or a tape measure. hope to get something post worthy.
  19. My wife had got me a Nikon D40 for Christmas two years ago. Came with the camera two lenses and a carry case. I think she paid around $600 for it. It has been a good camera, doesn't have all the bells and whistles as some of the other higher end Nikons but the photo quality and adjustabliity have been great. The D40's are probobly cheaper by now with all the newer models out. With your price range you should be able to find a real good camera and maybe have a little $ left over for some other accesories like a tripod or flash.
  20. not to thread jack but what club are you joining? i have been looking at some of the clubs around south florida and thought it might be cool to sign on so i could be a co-angler and maybe get some experience. getting out on a boat would be a plus too.
  21. lol yeah all i caught was a little sun burn and maybe malaria, mosquitos were terrible out there. left the house in a rush without repellent, but sure had the fish repellent on that A.M. definately going to have to get a tape measure and get in on the fun, i have been stalking this forum for about a month but just haven't posted.
  22. I went out on sunday and had a pretty good day. Need to remember to put a measure tape in the tackle box so I can joint the fun. I was out in margate at around 4:30pm caught a few small bass largest maybe 2#'s and one small snakehead. I had went out earier on sunday morning at the end of royal palm blvd and sawgrass and got skunked. The afternoon trip made up for it! Awesome peacock BassinLou!
  23. Awsome post as I will be in the market for a boat round new years (motorcycle paid off) and not really knowing much about boats, mechanic by trade, kinda in the same boat as you. It was a good read. need a good place to look for like "what to look for when buying used boats" website.
  24. Man this is a cool thread, now that I have seen it may try to get some posted. Need a tape measure though!
