Chart speed and "time lags"
Cheaper ones will, better ones with higher processors will be more fluid. I've never used mine less than "normal" and most of the time it is on fastest. I want to know whats going on below me NOW (fish), especially when moving slowly. When sitting still its always on fastest so I can see if there is a fish below me. I don't care to mark structure, that is what the DSI is for. Sonar is for fish, DSI for structure on my boat.

First tournament advice
What club are you in? Those dates and locations don't ring any bells.

Jigs
Take the skirt off and put the color you want on... lots of places sell ready-made skirts.

Chart speed and "time lags"
Slowing the chart speed actually slows the transmitting of the sonar signals, not just the screen. If you listen to your transducer when playing with the scroll speed you will hear it go from tick tick tick tick to tick....tick....tick...tick. So it slows everything down so there is no backlog. Hope that makes sense!

No way this is legit, right?
Absolutely correct. Also note that EBAY will return the money, so don't need to worry about the seller. Ebay will automatically take the money from them and give it to you. To be safe, when it arrives be sure to snap pics of the unopened box and then the contents. Or better yet, record it. Chances are you will receive dead weight (rocks, rice, etc) or the sonar box with an empty head unit in it (that's an iphone scam). Recording it all will speed up the process if they try and scam you.

Best Setup For Bank Stocked Trout
Its all instincts. You can teach them to eat pellets but you cannot teach them to not follow their instincts. Ever catch a bass on a sexy shad or gizzard shad crankbait in a spot where there are no shad? Instincts. Here in the streams in NE Iowa it takes about 5 minutes after stocking for the trout to slam spinners.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid...is it worth it?
Exactly right, which brings me back to my point that $0.98 shakespeare mono from walmart "would work" as a leader. Anything will work, but fluorocarbon is ideal. And if you have fluorocarbon, why use something else? That does make sense right?

Modified Ned Rig?
Don't worry Raul, I was just being sarcastic.

anyone catching crappie on finesse rig while bass fishing
Crappie and bass are not all that different. A crappie will try to eat anything it can fit in its mouth. When the crappie go shallow to spawn they will hit any moving bait you throw for bass. I catch a lot of them on square bills, spinnerbaits, and chatterbaits.

Best Setup For Bank Stocked Trout
Throw a 1/16 or 1/24 rooster tail spinner until you find the fish, then slow down and fish them with your favorite live or artificial bait. Trout love to hide under and around wood, and love to run rock shorelines looking for food. Generally speaking they are almost always within 15' of shore until they get established. Once they are established they will be wherever the food is.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid...is it worth it?
Almost that exact quote was on the tonight show last week! "don't believe everything you read online, trust me" and it was a facebook post. Sorry, fixed it. Didn't word it correctly.

Swimjig Trailer
3.8 fat impact was the hot trailer for bladed swim jigs in last weekend's elite tourney. I'm going to pick some up to try on bladed and regular swim jigs this year.

Lowrance Elite 4 w/CHIRP vs. Lowrance Hook 4 w/CHIRP
Yep, and some zip ties to attach the cable to your motor shaft. You can buy a universal adapter for trolling motors (just the plastic wedge piece and hose clamp), or for a little more protection you can buy the HDI trolling motor kit from lowrance which consists of the TM mount plus a plastic cover that goes over your transducer to protect it from damage. Yes, new for 2016

Portable Battery
Correct. But also factor in at least 20% loss as batteries never hold 100% of their rating. Plus a little extra as you NEVER want to draw a 12v sla or gel cell down 100%. There is a HUGE draw difference between the elite 4 and an 1100 series bird. About 5.5 times to be exact. So divide your runtime by 5. I also have an elite 4 that I used for ice fishing last year, the draw is tiny with them.. 0.25ah I believe. (250mah). Those are 4ah batteries right? So it would power an 1100 for 3 hours or so.

Lowrance Elite 4 w/CHIRP vs. Lowrance Hook 4 w/CHIRP
You should be able to find the elite pretty cheap since they discontinued it. Nothing at all wrong with the elite 4 chirp, I have one and it works just fine.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid...is it worth it?
There's no advantage over fluoro. Its not clear like fluoro, and its not as abrasion resistant (but very close!). Its probably stronger than most fluoros though, but that shouldn't matter with a leader. If you are using a leader you either need the near invisibility, or abrasion resistance. Otherwise there would be no need for a leader. Fluoro is clearer and has better abrasion resistance than co-poly. It would work, but in that case so would $0.98 walmart mono.

Shakyhead
There's no mold for that. I have seen a version of what you wanted, but can't think of what the name was! It wasn't the VMC, and it was unpainted. I think tacklejunky81 uses them also???

Yo-Zuri Hybrid...is it worth it?
Its not fluorocarbon. It will be more manageable than most fluoros, because its a hybrid line. With the conditioner you will have no problems at all. I use 4# on ultra lights with 1000 series reels and can fish with 1/32 crappie jigs all day long. I would NOT suggest it as a leader line, unless its all you have. Your 6# stren fluorocarbon would be a much better leader.

Talk me out of a Mojo, please.
Of course they will catch fish! Its just not enjoyable to use when you have to fight the rod tip all day. I've said it on here before.. if I could sell mine for a reasonable amount, I would sell it in a second. Just waiting for a local sucker.. I mean fisherman.. to want it. For anyone who doesn't have a mojo, clip a 1oz weight to the tip of your rod and then go fishing... that's the mojo bass rods!

Single bladed spinnerbaits
We use single colorado on the Miss river in high current areas. It helps slow the bait down and keep it in the strike zone longer, while putting out a loud thumping noise.

Modified Ned Rig?
You are asking if anyone has tried putting a senko on a jig head? Yeah, that's how I used to fish them for smallies 15 years ago. Maybe call that the Kev rig?

Major league fishing
No. You can find partial episodes on youtube though. You used to be able to watch the full version (2.5hrs each day) on their website for a reasonable fee, I think it was $30 a year, but they discontinued that for some reason. I don't get it on TV either and haven't been able to watch it online for a long time. Was by far my favorite fishing show. The first couple years I watched every extended cast online.

Long term Lews durability
3 years on mine. Even have a couple of the lowest end $50 model. Never a problem. I use one of those $50 ones for white bass, so it sees probably a thousand fish a year, including some 20#+ sheepshead and carp.
