  1. lews speed spool.. bps pro qualifier... or maybe check local dicks for any citicas left on sale for just over 50.. or else.. JUST SAVE YOUR MONEY!
  2. I dont "have" to get the ***.. its on order.. but I am sure if I slammed down and said.. nah let me get that dobyns champ they would be like SOLD!... what about the savvy micro? you got any of those
  3. I am not in need of a cranking stick so much as a froggin stick lol... like that makes sense.. and yeah if I was getting a dobyns I would get the 735.. I cant decide if it is worth the extra 80-120 bucks depending on sales to get the dobyns over the duckett.. I know there is plenty of talk on it in the forums.. I had also planned on getting the ***. to try 13 out.. cuz if I liked the ***.. I could get the ***.. and I have heard they are as good as extremes... UGH...
  4. ALSO.. I already throw duckett.. and could stick to that.. but they dont have what I would want in a duckett in stock.. but will for black friday.. DECISIONS DECISIONS... any help that way?
  5. interestingly they carry dobyns too.. I could get a dobyns champ 25% off tomorrow.. that is a thought... but I am really looking for a froggin rod.. not another bottom contact. which if I was spending big bucks (TO ME) on a champ... it would not be for froggin..
  6. So to add to the dilemma.. I got two options tomorrow.. I could buy 2 rods and 1 reel tomorrow (2 skeet reese 7'6 c-rig/swimbait rods, 1 for cranking, 1 for frogs, and a 7.1:1 lews speed spool for froggin) OR... what I had originally planned (a *** *** black 7'3H for froggin/lews speed spool 7.1:1 reel)... If price were not an option. what would you guys do!
  7. Okay so here is the dilemma, what I have 7'3mh duckett with lews speed spool 6.4:1 /bottom contact jig and texas rig and pitching to docks. 7' skeet reese spinnerbait/worm rod with 5.4:1 reel for cranks and spinnerbaits.. I dont like it for any sensitivity application such as bottom contact 6' spinning combo/ light t-rig and shaky head 6'spinning combo/ sqaurebills and light tackle apps I also have a *** *** 7'3H on the way paired with lews speed spool 7.1:1 for froggin/ pitching to the nasty My local bait and tackle has Skeet Reese rods 39.99 across the board.. Should I get another one.. (NO I will not use one for bottom contact) I would kinda like one for cranking and traps..... but not sure.. also potentially spinning Money is limited so that could go towards something else down the road other things I want one day (another Duckett or a Dobyns Savvy/Champion for another t-rig/jig rod SO If you say yes I should get one.. which one and for what application.. Spinning/casting/ rod etc.. THANKS GUYS.. I pull my hair out with sales due to indecisiveness.. also thinking.. I dont have a reel to pair with the new rod either.. UH OH!! Stupid Monkey GET OFF MY BACK!
  8. Great story, and I feel ya even though my wife is okay with me buying some stuff here and there.. that bait monkey is always there!
  9. War Eagle, I am an Auburn grad, and Auburn Student (UGH GRAD SCHOOL), you arent close to me location wise, but there are plenty of folks near ya on the forum. again welcome.
  10. Dang man, 10 foot baits.. you trying to catch gators? I like 4/0 gammy EWG
  11. yeah I dont really know the market well.. although I bought regular power pro for my spinning gear.. and with backing, I have NO digging in.. and while it is a bit noisy.. I catch lots of fish with it..
  12. Welcome to the forum, where in Alabama are you from?
  13. is it worth the extra money for a more quiet braid.. I have heard scott martin talk about that it is important. but he has to be a bit of a salesman.... WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? mostly using this for froggin and some thick stuff pitching.
  14. I am thinking they will.. I am actually going by there today or tomorrow to buy a brand new rod from them.. just wondering mostly if this interaction would turn you off to a company as a rod buyer.
  15. I have a rod at a 160 dollar price point that I bought in April.. The rod has an initial one year warranty that is free.. considering manufacture defect. What do I need to do, during the 1st year, if I have a damaged rod? To have a damaged rod repaired or replaced during the first year contact our warranty service center at xxxxxxxx for a return authorization code. The service center will advise you as to whether your damaged rod should be returned to the service center or to an authorized dealer in your area. If there is no authorized dealer in your area, the service center will advise you of the return shipping charges. No shipping charges will be assessed if replacement is done by an authorized dealer. If you are returning your damaged rod to our service center, send the rod along with your authorization code, proof of purchase and a check to cover return shipping to: That is what the warranty states.. if a guide broke on the rod, while bringing in a fish.. would you consider that under warranty.. I called the service number and was told that I could have it repaired locally. and they would send me a guide. or ship it in and pay to have it shipped there and 15 dollars to have it shipped back.. I have been told by friends that my local bait and tackle who carries the rods will usually just give you a brand new one.. but the service rep on the phone does not seem to think this is policy.. What do you guys think?
  16. *** *** Black 7'1 M-Fast.. you can get them under 100.. and wait till TW has a sale.. get 15-20% off.. Slap that sweet Lew's on there and never have a worry!
  17. yeah my favorite is usually hazelnut lololol..
  18. SO there are so many COFFEE infused soft plastics now days.. Any legitimacy to this or is it a fad.. AND ALSO If my wife has some leftover french press coffee she is going to throw out, can I throw that in a bag or jar and take it fishing and just dip my softplastic in it for an hour.. will it have the same effect (if there is one)... THOUGHTS.. As always thanks for your responses.
  19. I would vote Dobyns at that price point and get the champ, use money saved on discount for some good fishing line.. TADA. problem is solved.
  20. You throw savvy at all.. just for comparison to duckett.. as I am contemplating the switch.. but cannot afford any of the higher end rods.
  21. http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh244/YASONA13/IMG_0813.jpg Look at that picture... that looks like candy.. sooo smooth.. and cool color too.. I went to the show us your gear to see if I could find one that looks like mine and alas I could not.. Maybe its just because they freshly spool it.. I also wish I had access to all of the colors they have.. I am soo weird..
  22. Whenever I see pictures of peoples gear specifically baitcasting reels.. the line looks so beautifully spooled.. pretty.... shiny.. etc.. my question.. Why does mine never look like this???.. I spool it pretty tight.. take my time.. but it never looks sooo good.. even after just spooling it.. I use mostly seaguar flouro invizx.... and I am using a lews speed spool... WHATS THE DEAL?
  23. Both are great reels man.. you are going to hear about 50/50 for either... I am a lews fan and now use their reels exclusively .. you will probably also hear many people say shimano... but I think the revo and tp are greater values than the shimano stuff.. hope this helps.
  24. I can actually fish there pretty much anytime.. but he does have a boat for it while I would have to kayak or canoe over there.. which is a difference.. but, it wasnt to get to the lake.. that was actually my 6th time fishing there and 1st with him..
  25. My local bait and tackle just picked up dobyns.. and I have considered getting a savvy to compare the two rods at the same price point.. The I love my duckett though.. I am brand loyal on my reels and want to be on my rods. but I am also considering a *** *** for my froggin rod.. so i might have a bunch of everything
