  1. Can you fish the maine side with a NH licence??
  2. Yes, sir. Ive never fished there. Looks really interesting on the map.
  3. Anyone fish Milton Pond? Thinking of heading there friday. Kind of need some new scenery, but nit sure if i shiukd just stick to my usual spots along rt. 4. Any advice on this lake is appreciated. I''ll be headed out solo.
  4. I'm in. I will be getting out on Friday to focus solely on catching my 1st bass of the season. Not sure where in NH I'll be going, but I have the day off, and will be putting in a full day of fishing.
  5. I hit a lake small lake in Mass near my parents house. I was throwing cranks all over trying to locate some bass with no luck. Caught a bunch of rainbows - this one being the nicest.
  6. So I took the Nucanoe on the Lamprey last Sat. Beautiful day, but only caught one small rainbow trolling a small spinner near one of the banks. I tried everything in my arsenal. Was looking for any signs of species other than trout. I'll be hitting the Lamprey again this Sat, and a trout pond in Mass on Sunday. Water temps are obv. still pretty cold, but it felt great just to be out on the water.
  7. i'm looking for some bigger keel weighted hooks, 5/0 and 6/0. Any recs? so many to chose from.
  8. I haven't pulled the trigger on a depth finder just yet. I can't decide between the Humminbirds or Lowrances. Will be installing one this month for sure. I'm almost 100% sure I'll be going with the "shoot thru hull transducer". I'm am so itching to get out there.
  9. Dusted off the Nucanoe and got it rigged and ready. Hope to get out on a river this weekend. http://instagram.com/p/mVbQjbszru/#
  10. So I'm going to be in Canandaigua, NY week of July 15th. Possibly bringing my kayak but not definite. Any advice from locals on this area? Lakes to def hit? Camping recs.? Also are there any good places to rent a boat in case I leave the yak at home? I know zero about this part of NY, but judging from google maps, it looks insane as far as fishing opportunities.
  11. Nice fish Shane! Glad to see you're out this early in the season, and having success. I don't have a lot of experience on rivers, but you have def. motivated me to get my butt out there soon. Might launch my Yak this weekend on the Merrimack if it stays dry out there.
  12. I would guess the later ice out, would translate into a later spawn. With more ice their is less water evaporation, and therefore it will take more time for water temps to rise to appropriate spawning levels. Seems logical to me, but I'm just taking an educated guess.
  13. there are some really good articles on how much and often they were dumping in the rivers. it seems Duke energy especially has made some feeble attempts and promises to clean the area for years to come.
  14. How are you southern fisherman feeling about all this coal ash being illegally dumped in your rivers? Anyone taking action in their area? It seems like these guys have done some serious damage - Duke energy to be exact. Doesn't seem like your local govt's are doing much about it. Such a shame to purposely destroy clean water supplies and jeopardize health to humans never mind the damage it's doing to the fisheries. I hope these guy's pay for the damage they've done. Its a shame there will be no criminal charges.
  15. how important is it to remove that belly fin? i gotta get some bigger hooks for sure. i don't think i even have a 6/0 in my tacklebox.
  16. How well do they work T-rigged? Any tips for rigging? Saw a bunch of diagrams on the Rage site for other baits, but nothing for the Shellcracker. I love the look and feels of these plastics. Can't wait to try them out.
  17. I picked up some Shellcrackers in Hard Candy. Have used the craws quite a bit last season, but have yet to test any other Rage baits.
  18. Shane, it says in the flyer I got it's 30-50% salesman samples, I'm assuming both rods and reels. They are going to have a Shimano Bass Team Truck, Boat and demo tent. Demos and casting competitions and some giveaways. Shimano will be there Sat and Sun but the sale on all fishing equipment starts Thursday.
  19. Fishing Fest at the Kittery Trading Post Thurs-Sun this week. Big Shimano sale 30-50% off.
  20. Temp in my truck said 26 this AM but it felt much warmer. Those spring rays are doing their job. Tomorrow should be the warmest its been in awhile around here. Should be wetting our lines soon!!
  21. yeah it's overkill. i buy more in the winter out of boredom. i've been building a salt water arsenal this winter. gonna get out on the ocean a little more this year.
  22. I've been monitoring the weather on the seacoast like a hawk. 1" to an 1.5" on the ground right now, and temps are in the 20's. Only bright spot, the 40 degrees and rain yesterday melted quite a bit of the snow and ice around here. 50 degrees on Sat should also help. Murphy's Law: buy a Yak late in the fall; endure the longest winter ever!
  23. could this winter get any worse? i keep checking the 10-day forecast and there seems to be no end in sight for this cold. i'm praying to the warm weather gods as i type....
  24. those look like a winner. thanks!!
  25. I have an F-150 and would like to add a rod rack or 2 to the bed. I would like to run them along the side of the bed horizontally, because my SOT yak sits against the back of the bed. Any good DIY suggestions? I'm not the most handy guy, so the easier the better.
