Suspending jerkbaits are great this time of year. Drop shotting, carolina rigs, and lipless cranks are good as well.

Really like the bass assassins as well as sluggos, though I use the super flukes more than any others. They flat out rock.

Just make sure you are pausing long enough in cold water. With water in the low 50s, I usually pause 7 - 15 seconds between twitches or series of twitches. Make sure you work your jerkbait on a semi slack line. That is essential to get an erratic, wandering action.

I use 17 or 20 pound suffix elite with a fluoro leader. I throw 1 - 4 ounce swimbaits mostly.

Deep suspending jerk, shallow suspending jerk, hair jig with baby rage or baby paca, drop shot, lipless crank, carolina rigged centipede.

They are a very good frog and walk very easily, and the drain hole in the back keeps them from taking on water. I still prefer the koppers though bc they hold up a bit better and come through very thick cover easier. But both are great choices. Koppers, Pad Crasher, and spro are my three brands of choice in that order.

A little on the small side for my liking, I use the 4" and 5" models. The 3" could be good for a finesse bite on a shakyhead or for turned of smallies.

I always throw shad raps on spinning gear. The regular scatter rap cranks cast fine on my Curado 200e5 with 10 pound mono or fluoro on a 7' M BPS crankin' stick.

The KVD spray is so good I will never use anything else.

Suffix Elite hi vis yellow mono, but a fluoro leader. In real thick stuff 20 pound P - Line 100% fluoro.

Only when I'm running low or I couldn't get a knot out of it and have to remove it, which is rare.

Power pro is great. I use 50 pound for my frogging but our slop isn't as thick and a 5 pounder is a nice one around here. Thicker slop and bigger bass, go with the 65.

BPS PQ or Lew's can't go wrong, rarely hear anything bad about either. If it's on sale go with the PQ.

Longer with medium/moderate action. I throw 1/4 skitterpops with 10 pound mono on a 200 CuradoE5 with a 7' BPS M Crankin' Stick.

Pitch shallow cover, rockpiles, and weedlines. I use 15 pound mono with a fluoro leader, a 2/0 EWG hook, and a 1/4 ounce parasite weight. Just pitch it out, let it sink, and work it back with hops and drops. Most hits come on the fall but shake it on the bottom because sometimes that's what triggers them.

Original Stren, lo vis green for clear or clear blue fluorescent for stained and muddy. I go with 10 pound for deep cranking, shallow cranks and heavy cover could call for as heavy as 17.

Skip casting under docks and overhangs.

I use 6 - 8 pound mono on my spinning gear, occasionally 10 on some but generally if I'm throwing anything over 8 pound line I use casting gear.

Yep, the CC super spot is still my favorite or second favorite lipless behind the SK red eye shad.

They make good plastics. I like their ringworms especially and the tubes.
