  1. Contact Duckett if you have the warranty they most likely will send you one for free
  2. I use a 714 for jigs and it has become one of my favorite Jig rods. I havent used a M1 so I cant speak for it though.
  3. I have experience fishing for sharks from the beach and on a boat. I have a cousin in Florida who fishes for the big girls (bulls, blacktips, hammers etc) and I fish with him everytime we visit. We get a kayak and paddle the bait a few hundred yards and drop it down and we paddle back and wait until the drag starts screaming. My biggest advice I can give you is bring a good pair of wire cutters to cut your leader even with smaller sharks you dont want to put your hands to close to their mouths. Also be smart when landing them there is a reason they are the apex predator of the ocean and like SirSnookalot said they can make 180 degree turns very quickly and dont keep them out of the water very long if you managed to land one there going to be exhausted and out of water for too long could kill them.
  4. Yeah i stocked up on the Arashi squarebills too. They also had a lot of Big Bite Bait plastics going for .98
  5. Last year I caught a lot of 4lb+ fish biggest being a 8 on a Dirty Jig California Swim Jig with a Roboword EZ Shad trailer.
  6. Freshwater- Cutthroat trout Saltwater- Thresher and Mako Sharks My dad was a fly fishing guide in Colorado for a long time and I have gotten to do some fishing with him there and I absolutley love cutthroats they are absolutley beautiful fish. I've lived in SoCal the majority of my life and my dad and I also loved targeting giant fish so we did a lot of saltwater fishing for thresher and mako sharks. I cant think of a bigger thrill than having a #150+ Mako on the end of your line and seeing it jump 10 feet out of the water making your drag scream.
  7. Just out of curiosity for the people who have used the Japanese Sniper (TW exclusive line that has 110 yards a spool) how does it hold up to Super FC Sniper. I always thought that everyone used the Japanese Sniper because everyone says FC Sniper instead of Super FC Sniper until I saw that all the Sunline Pro's use Super FC Sniper instead of the Japanese Sniper so I decided if the pros use Super Fc Sniper instead of the Japanese I will too lol
  8. IPT from each reel company determines what gear ratio I use. Typically I like the 28-30 inch IPT for everything.
  9. FC Sniper is my absolute favorite fluro. I tend to use 20# on a good majority of my baitcasters. The reason for the that is because it has the diameter of most other companies 15# fluro or 12-14# mono. To me it also more abrasion resistant than the other sizes and I fish around A LOT of wood and rocks so I need as much abrasion resistance as possible. On spinnig rods I also enjoy 7# FC Sniper because it has the diameter of 6# and the strength of 8#.
  10. Jerk Baits Ive tried and tried for hours and hours but cant catch anything with them

There the samething. Chatterbait is the name for the Z-man Bladed swim Jig and the name stuck with almost all bladed swim jigs. Its kind of like Kleenex and Tissue

Honestly I dont throw swimjigs as much now because I think bladed swimjigs are a lot better. I use a swimjig over a bladed swim jig when the fish want something with less thump.

I love swim jigs there one of my favorite baits to throw. I really love throwing heavy duty swim jigs such as a 3/8 ounce dirty jigs california swim jig in crappie with a roboworm ez shad swimbait in hologram shad. But I also throw the regular diry jig swim jigs in bluegill and tactical shad.
  14. Brush Jig Chatterbait Red Eye Shad T-Rig Rage Craws in Green Pumpkin
  15. Either an EXO PT 100 or PT Smoke 100. Its either one of those or a Curado I or a Chronarch Ci4+. Decisions Decisions........
  16. Yup when I first got started that was my first "technique specific" rod because squarebills were my biggest confidence baits. It was a great rod and handled baits with treble hooks perfectly. And I think it the best cranking rod in the $50-$100 price range I loved the rod so much that it led me to buy many other powells. I still use it time to time but I uprgraded it to a Powell Endurance Cranking Rod 725 and I have a hard time putting that one down lol
  17. I always love to try new reels and rods from different companies but when I drop $160+ on a reel I want to know that it is solid and there wont be any issues. So inorder to make sure im making a good investment I check the reviews. Generally i will not buy a rod or reel unless there are 75% or higher positive reviews. So when I look at Quantum reels and see tons and tons of negative reviews I just dont feel safe buying one. But now im really considering biting the bullet and try one
  18. Powell Diesel Cranking rods are $80 retail but you can get them for $50 on the Fish Ranger
  19. I trim them so they are flush with the barb
  20. I like a Pit Boss in Green Haze on a 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu or VMC Fast Grip. I also like using a Missle Baits D Bomb in Green Pumkin with the same hooks and sizes
  21. Siebert Outdoor Fogy with a 4 inch Keitech Swing Impact
  22. Your welcome and I have used the line your currently and I didnt like it all. Next time you spool your squarebill rod use 14lb Super FC Sniper and you will never go back!!
  23. I can tell you first hand you will hate flurocarbon until you use a quality flurocarbon. I didnt like it for a while until i tried Sunline Super FC Sniper once i tried I put it on every setup I had except topwater and punching. The great things about this line include low diameter, strength, abrasion resistance, sensitivity, and low memory. I have had this stuff on now since the beginning of the season and still havent had an issue with memory on any set up granted I do use KVD Line and Lure. But if you are having an issue with memory i read an article somewhere where people pull out their line until they get to the last 20-30 yards and then tie it to their trailer and grab their rod and start walking back stretching their line to reduce the memory. I havent done this so I cant comment if it works or even if it is good for your line but its an option
  24. Lews BB1 you can find them NIB for $125 on Ebay
  25. I use a Powell Endurance Cranking Rod 725CB with a Revo STX in the 6 gear version with 14lb Sunline Super FC Sniper. Typically I throw Bill Norman Big N squarebills, KVD 1.5s and 2.5s, 6th Sense 75x, Spro Little Johns, and a Shallow Bandit Flat Maxx. I always change the hooks to Gamagatsus but keep them the exact same size as the stock hooks
