  1. Thanks man! I thought it was a lot older when I bought it. I bought it with a Heddon Crazy Crawler and a Creek Chub Striper Strike 2100. I paid $15 for all 3 of them, so I dont think I did too bad. Im not sure how old the crazy crawler is though.
  2. You must have just beat me to the post! haha Do you know if theyre rare at all? or how old this one might be?
  3. Yeah I agree. Ive actually kept researching after posting this, and think its a lure called a Woodchopper. Which comes up as being made by "Ozark Mountain" and "Luhr Jensen". Im not sure if there's a difference in the companies or anything, but Id still like to know how rare they are if anyone knows. Thanks for the input guys!
  4. Sorry about that. Something didnt process I guess. The pic is now in the original post.
  5. I bought a few vintage lure the other day because there was an old crazy crawler included in the bundle. This one was also in there and I can't figure out what it is! Its 2-3" long, has two propellers, and it made of wood. Does anyone know what it is and if they're hard to find? Thanks!
  6. Way2Slow: Thanks so much! I was thinking about expanding the peg as you said to hold it on, but a screw might be better. Im going to my dads shop tomorrow, so hopefully we'll be able to get it held on. So it doesnt matter if there's a little wiggle in it as quanjig asked above? quanjig: Yeah that gasket it shot, but I have brand new one in my carb kit!
  7. I tried to grab the peg with a pair of pliers to theread it out, but im almost convinced its made onto the body
  8. Well apparently it sensors my word.. so I'll describe it as a peg.
  9. Hey guys, I have a 1983 Chrysler Sea King 15HP. I recently bought a carb kit because my float was stuck and pouring gas out the front when I primed it. When I took off the bowl, there was a little flat cover part loose inside. It seems to mount on the underside of the carb frame and cover a hole of some sort. It sets on a small ***, but has no threads/ screw to hold it in place, and it is not listed on the parts diagram. Can anyone tell me what it is, how it broke, and how to fix it? 10. I think the one with the propellers might be a Creek Chub Injured Minnow. Its the closest thing I can find. Did any other companies make a lure like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-FISHING-LURE-WOODEN-CREEK-CHUB-BABY-INJURED-MINNOW-GLASS-EYES-1924-1963-/380868897261?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58ad8e29ed
  11. Cool! Thanks for sharing. Do you have any luck with it? My dad has always told me how neat their action is in the water, so I thought about buying a newer one to try out. Id use his, but I'd hate for one of the muskies to get an appetite for it while I'musing 15 lb test... haha.
  12. Thanks guys! Are any of these rare? Id never sell them, but Im just curious.
  13. 1. Jig (Yamamoto Hula Grub) 2. Fluke 3. Dropshot (zoom finesse worm)
  14. Here's a couple better pics. https://www.dropbox.com/s/flivsh5t6spf4d8/2014-03-12%2022.22.13.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/71wl3akxudnw5vx/2014-03-12%2022.23.05.jpg I hope those links work
  15. That one is wooden. I feel like that's not the original paint job on it, but I could be wrong. Also, does anyone know what the 2nd one up from the bottom corner is (silver and black with prop)? Or the green on underneath it? It kind of has a bent shape to it and the hook is mounted on the side.
  16. Thanks! Do you have any idea how old any of these look to be?
  17. My great grandfather was born in 1892, so I have no idea how old that lure might be.. it might be back from as far as the20s or 30s or something. I dont really know anything about vintage lures, so I was hoping someone could fill me in about it, or any of the other baits really. The only ones I know what are are the three Arbogast Sputterbugs.
  18. Hey guys, I went through my great grandfathers tackle box the other day, and got what lures out that hadnt been snatched up over the years and cleaned them up. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the 2nd lure down in the 2nd column is (yellow with metal flappers). Ive tried looking online and cant find anything like it. Thanks! Dillon
  19. Thanks for all the advice guys, if everything works out, I should be buying a used Ambassadeur C3 6500. I was wanting to go with the cardiff, but I'm getting the reel with fresh 50# power pro, a bucktail, and a leader for $65. So I plan to buy it next week.
  20. I'm a hunter as well. I live in West Virginia and hunt whitetail and turkey.
  21. I like a 4-6 lb test line on my trout pole (5' light action spinning reel. Like the guys above said, in line spinners are my go-to when I fish for trout in small streams here. I prefer a 1/24 or 1/16 oz. Rooster Tails (White, Rainbow, Brown), but in the pond id say up to 1/8 would do. Also, get some Mike's garlic salmon eggs and put them on a #6 bait hook - that setup can be deadly. In the realm of crankbaits (which may be very good for the pond) I've heard that the Rebel Craw and Grasshopper hard baits are good for trout, but I do not have any experience with them. You should look into what streams you can fish for trout in in your area. There's nothing like pulling a big trout out of a little stream. Good luck!
  22. Thanks for all the advice guys! I think when I get some money together, I''m going to go with the Cardiff 300. Given my budget, and the fact that Im not going to musky fish very often, I think its a good match. Plus it's a good match for bass swimbaits like you said. I'll let you guys know for sure what I get when I get it, and Ill be sure to post some pics of anything I haul in with it. Thanks again!
  23. Yeah, I know theyre beastly reels. The only thing that I dislike about the 300 and 5500s are that I dont think they dont have a baitclicker (which would come in handy for catfish or trolling), but that's not necessarily a deal breaker. I do think i'd like the thumb button on the cardiffs, but Ive heard some people say the cardiffs are kind of cheaply made. Does anyone have experience with the 300 or 400 reels in similar applications?
  24. Thanks for the help! Between the C3 and C4 I had been leaning toward the C3 for the reasons you mentioned. I know shimano's are supposed to be great, and my buddy seems to like his cardiff 100 for bass, but I have never used one. I mostly bass fish and just want to get this gear for the occasional use, so the Cardiff would be better on a price standpoint too. Do you think it would hold up okay in using it once in a blue moon in salt water? I might be moving to central VA in the next year and am thinking about fishing in the Chesapeake bay some. I know the Abu's have stainless bearings in them, but I'm not sure about the Cardiffs.
  25. Hey guys, I've been seriously thinking about trying out Muskie fishing over the last couple months, but have been waiting to figure out what kind of gear to get. Cabela's recently had their Tourney Trail casting reels on sale for $32.99, so I ordered a heavy rod since it was such a good deal. Here are the rod specs: Length: 7'6" Power: Heavy Action: Fast Lure Weight: 1-3 oz Lb Test: 17-40 Now, Ive been looking into several options for a reel. I'm wanting a reel that I can use for musky, but I would also like to use it for something like Striper fishing or pier fishing at the beach (If that is possible with this setup). I'm looking for a reel in the $100 price range, so I've mostly been looking at the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur C4 6600, but I have also looked at the Shimano Cardiff 400A or the Shimano Corvalus. Given my intetions for musky/ occasional saltwater fishing, which reel would you guys recommend me look into getting? Thanks! Dillon
