*I have heard of the Hildebrandt spinnerbaits - but not seen them locally in person before - I certainly like their blades ! *That bottom fire tiger / twin Indiana silver blades is the one Rick Clunn did the damage with on the St. Johns River Elite tournament a few years ago - RC murdered them with that spinnerbait !

That happens sometimes , RC is still a class act and I hope he bounces back at the next tournament stop .

Who would have ever thought that the great Rick Clunn who has enjoyed two fairly recent titles at the BP Elite - St. Johns River Tournament in Florida would whiff two straight days not landing any measurable bass for 00 total weight , finish dead last (99th) and miss the weekend cut !?! What ever patterns RC was running obviously were not working out for him ...*That's big league tournament bass fishing for you !!

Thanks Bluebasser86 - I do not recall reading what blade configuration the Booyah spinnerbait had and I would agree that needs to be defined ... Moving on , War Eagle and Nichols should be in the spinner bait upper tier and the Booyah made "Covert" series designed by Jason Christie comes in 72 configurations and is made with quality components . But at $9.00 ea. I won't be buying many of the 72 variations of the Covert series . Ideally , there should be good choices less than $8.00 ea. so you can afford to buy a few different configurations ?

I am prompted to write this after reading an article stating Booyah was a good brand spinnerbait - "but don't expect to feel any thump or vibration from it on the retrieve"... So this statement leads me to believe : *There are vibrating wire frame spinnerbaits and non-vibrating wire frame spinnerbaits - which is your choice and which manufacturer / series do you prefer ?

*You must be Ned himself with a spinning set up like that !

*Would pegging the weight not also help pulling soft plastics over limbs / wood ?

During the peak of winter when it's tough to get bit - I break out a 7' M/F spinning rod , 2500 series reel (#10 lb. ~ #15 lb. braid + #8 lb. FC leader) , 3/16th oz. round ball jig head and finally match to a Kalin's single tail Lunker Grub fished slowly just above the bottom ... *Who else likes the largely forgotten single tail grub on a jig head for winter bass fishing ? What's your favorite single tale grub plus set up ?

The Ned is like M&M's to a bass versus the buffet line ...

Yes , each year more and more companies trying to cash in on the Ned craze . I'm still all about cut down in half elaZtec stick worms or TRD's mostly on small 1/16th oz. jig heads with #2 size hooks , The #2 EWG hook with a pegged 1/16th oz. bullet weight with a TRD is a cool deal too.

*Woah !! ... Can I eliminate those things from happening if I move up to #15 lb. line ? ... Never mind , I'm now spooling up with #17 lb. P-Line CX-X just to be safe !

South of the Mason - Dixon line Feb. marks the month that bass will start their migration up shallow to scout for good spawning places - you are also likely to catch your largest size or most bass during this period as well ... *What are your current favorite tactics / lures for catching pre-spawn bass ?

*Looks like Ned Rig set up territory ... I suppose it could be done , but not sure I would want to use #8 lb. braid + 5 lb. Maxima (great lines !) to try to drive a buried jig head hook (3/0 ~ 4/0) through a plastic worm and into a bases mouth .

While Power Pro can be more noisy - I never had a problem with it , availability locally is good and to my knowledge it doesn't hurt rod guides ? I'm just a week end fisherman so PP has been fine in s variety of line sizes .

3/32nd oz ~ 3/16th oz. shaky heads I fish on #10 lb. or #15 lb. PP Braid (Hi - Viz Yellow) +either #7 lb. Sunline FC or #8 lb. Seaguar FC leaders ... Depends on which spinning set up I am using at the time for the shaky head .

*Try the Marge - not the Homer ... Marge murders the bass pre-spawn !!

*Really , you have some fine choices there listed already which you can match in color to your new fire craw chatter bait .

*I've done so many rehab stints at Restful Meadows Rehab Center - (Fishing Ward) that the staff know me on a first name basis and always offer up a hearty : "Welcome Back" ! when ever they see me again .

Has anyone tried P-Line FC line ? I'm also curious about the new Strike King FC line and the Sufix Advance FC lines ? ... Gama Edge appears to be a solid FC line but may not be any better than Sunline or Seaguar FC lines and is harder to find (unless ordering on line) .
