  1. ^^This^^ ... Definitely go by the diameter (i.e. Berkley 100% FC line is larger diameter than Seaguar / Sunline (the two most popular) in certain sizes . Here is a good comparison as Team9nine was eluding to : Daiwa J - Fluoro : #20 lb. .373mm diameter Seaugar InvizX / AbrazX : #17 lb. .37mm diameter Sunline Sniper FC : #20 lb. .37 diameter *Pick one of the above and you are in great shape for C-Rig and Jig combo set up - I wouldn't go lighter than .35mm FC diameter for what you want to do .
  2. *I think this is about the best option at $50 (Daiwa Aird - X Heavy) with #50 lb. ~ #65 lb. braid .
  3. J Franco : You have my attention now !!
  4. I appreciate the replies - my spinning reels are clean and well taken care of (never been dunked , dropped in mud , etc.) so I believe I am going to carefully take apart and simply re-lube with Cal's . If that doesn't do the trick - then I will explore new carbontex drag washers for my Daiwa and Abu Garcia spinning reels .
  5. Something I never thought about doing - but notice now that a couple of spinning reel drags are a little jerky / not smooth when pulling out line to set the drag (i.e. drag discs dried out ?) ... Any tips / techniques to making spinning reel drags happy again ? Thanks in advance !
  6. *Does co-poly line for a Ned Rig provide a better fall rate or some other advantage versus using the same line size in FC ?
  7. *Spike It / JJ's and a few Q-Tip swabs ?
  8. Great Senko spinning rods here - my vote for 4" to 5" Senkos with a Gammy 3/0 ~ 4/0 EWG is a Dobyns 703SF .
  9. I've come to the conclusion the FG knot (and to a degree - even the Alberto knot) requires being born with a 3rd hand !
  10. *Curious if you were using a 50 yard top shot of FC line with mono backing and still finding line management issues ?
  11. *Perhaps MUST is a little strong - how about highly desirable or preferred ? While you can use an FC leader to braid mainline to defeat line shy bass in clear water I believe FC main line to be highly desirable / preferred for slack line sensitivity and dragging bottom contact T-Rigs and Jigs ... True or False ?
  12. *I would agree here - the Sierra 735C is better for bigger 4/0 ~ 5/0 EWG and heavier jig / flipping hooks moving fish quickly away from cover .
  13. Interesting - good comments . Slack line sensitivity might be the area where FC line is apt to shine the best ?

  15. *What color is that SK Swimming Caffeine Shad ? Looks like a "Watermelon Pearl something" I have not seen before ...
  16. I certainly can understand staying with what works for you . Part of the fishing fun is exploring what may be new with lines as possibly it may be better than what you are currently using . That said , doubtful Tatsu or Smackdown will be topped anytime soon (lol !) ... In the mid - tier lines is where you will find more of the new products coming out . *Berkley just released a Fluoro infused co-polymer line called : "Fluoroshield" ... Sounds like the same principle as P-Line's : "Fluoroclear" ?
  17. Curious what the next new main line you want to try is ? ... For me - the newer Sufix Advance Mono or FC lines.
  18. #8 lb. ~ #10 lb. Hi - Viz Yellow Power Pro Braid Main Line #6 lb. ~ # 8 lb. Seaguar FC InvizX Leader #7 lb. Sunline FC Sniper Leader *!0 foot leader lengths now with no fear of winding a good double uni knot up into the spinning reel spool .
  19. Top Shelf : 5" Senko Green Pumpkin / Black Flake Premium : 5" Yum Dinger Green Pumpkin / Black Flake Well : 5" Zoom Finesse Worm Green Pumpkin / Black Flake
  20. Cfrat stores such as Michaels , Hobby Lobby , etc. sell clear sealer sprays . I use them to spray over painted spinner bait blades where I will also sprinkle a little glitter on top for added affect.
  21. Sight Flash also known as Pearl Flash ... My rule of thumb was to use Pearl White on darker water or overcast daays and the two - tone Sight Flash / Pear Flash in clearer water / sunny days .
  22. Curious for those that have used both colors - what conditions would you choose the Pearl White color vs. Sight Flash (which is a half pearl / half clear sparkle) color in your swim baits ?
  23. Beside Siebert's Mini - Swim Jig , I am also trying the compact spinner baits Mike offers ... Again , it's a niche size I don't have - it seems I go from a "Bitsy Bug" straight up to a Hack Attack size jig with nothing in the middle (lol !)
