On the Acme Mapper it shows the 150 line and then another line out from it. what is the depth of the line out past the 150?

Thanks Catt You put it into perspective. The glassy days of summer are over and if we are gonna fish this time of year it is gonna be windy and cold. I think i will go back to mill creek in the morning and try the grass on the main lake and the old railroad that runs along that bank. i found how the ledge fall off from the grass and drops and then drops again. I think the fish will be on the first drop if i can find what is holding them. Catt, should the bass be holding tight to structure post cold front or suspended? Or does the cooler water tell them cold weather coming and they need to feed up for winter? I think the faster crank bait and spinner bait bite should be on and the jig bite later in the day when the sun is up. Now when you say main lake what are you talking about? humps,ridges and deep structure? what is considered good water for this time of year? 20' or maybe 30' i just dont know. lack of experiance tells me to move shallower because as the water cools the thermocline is disapaiting and the fish move all over the lake. Plus i dont know any spots in deep water. I guess that would be the key if anyone is catching fish now in deep water how deep are they? Ok sorry for the long post and so many questions I am trying to be the best I can be and you guys are the Pros so I do value any info you can give me. Dam yankee if you are at mill creek tomorrow give me a shout.

I am planning on fishing Saturday but they are calling for a 13 mph north wind. Can anybody recommend the best place to fish in this kind of wind? Housen or mill creek? Or is there a better place?

Good point Bass_Fanatic. I guess I will have to learn more about fish habit than habitat. I have been doing alot of studying on what bass are doing in all seasons so that I will be able to locate them in the differant lakes.

please do. I am new to the tournament idea but it is what i want to experiance. I joined tha ABA and i think i will join the club that another siteatic is in. not sure what all i want to do but i am trying to learn where to catch the big girls on TB and then move what i have learned to other lakes. I had my nephew with me and he caught his pb 3.5 lbs. He doesnt ho much but he had fun. I wouldblove to get him on some of those school fish.

Fished millcreek today had three on Sk 1.5 in sexy shad color an they were hitting it until I hit my tm and broke the bill off. Used another type cb but nothing. Only thing they would hit was gold trap. Wound up with seven fish. Largest was 3.5 .

Not sure Bearonthewater. i have fished some rocks up north of the pindelton bridge area out by the chicken coops but that was only shelfs on the river. not familure enough on the southend to help yet.

Thanks Catt. I ordered my Hook and Line Map Monday and hope it will be in in time for Sat. trip but if not i will use my Acme to get close and then my electronics to dial in. Thanks for the help.

Thanks Dutch. I am heading back up Sat. To look for some humps and ridges out around texas island and up to Housen. Not sure how much fishing I wiill do just plan on riding the lake and looking for some main lake structure. I have been looking at the acme mapper (thanks catt) and think I found a few good spots I want to check out. I think the fish should be on them now. I have been wanting to learn how to use a jig and figure these humps would be good for that. I may have an open seat if anyone is interested. My partner is going to be on a deer stand like almost everybody else.

I always fill up before I get to the lake so im not sure about gas. there is a store on the way to Anacoco on hwy.392 and hwy. 111. you can get Ice and tackle and such there. Pirates cove has a restaurant that serves Breakfast lunch and dinner. the phone number is (318)565-4467 and they will prepair to go orders. I don't know anything about the liquor or the Bass Haven resort except that it looks really old. Not sure about playing in the water or skiing but you can go down to the dam and look around. as far as site seeing the Canadian Geese are down all over the lake and i have been seeing several Bald Eagles around Pirates Cove and Kites Landing quite often. Well I hope this helps.

Catt as the water cools in the fall will all fish move shallow or will the larger fish stay on the grass edges? I know what you say about 15+ or- 3 but my question refers mostly to large fish over 5 pounds.

Thanks I am going this weekend and want to spend some time flipping a jig. I have never had any success at it but I know if I am going to get big fish I need to learn it. Any advice on color or size or even depth of water? I thought of going to indian mounds and trying there. Any advice would be great. I tried one sat. But nothing and not sure what to do. I hear it is a big fish bate on the Bend.

Yeah tough day both days I caught 12 friday with two keepers a total weight of just over 5 pounds Saturday windy and cold I launched at six mile and fished the grass and points caught 5 fish one keeper 2.51 lbs. Best fish came on a chugbug and the rest were on crank baits and rattle traps. No bite on jig or texas rig worm. Ihope the fish will start to get in the fall pattern soon. Has anyone tried a spinner bait? I fished one a short time Saturday but no bite. shouldn't they be on spinnerbaits now? Does any one know how much weight won the ABA tournament Sat. At the Military rec?

I mean big girls. You know we all like them big.

I am curious Catt I fished grass in Pirates Cove Sunday and only had two and they came on texas rig as well. No size to them tough. I am fishing a tournament october 19 out of Pirates cove. What would you recommend for that area and time of year?
