I dont agree one bit with them searching myself or my property. Im always legal, but if im minding my own business and visually not doing anything illegal, no dnr or cop should even be able to stop me and start hasseling me. I seem to have better luck with a single tail grub vs the swimbait style trailer. Ive only tried a shad pattern though. How does the tails of the menace an shellcracker baits hold up to bites and catches? I went threw a few bags of the rage craws because theres not much plastic holding the claws on to the body, a good an bad thing

Ive done this several times with an without success. Stealth is key imo. From a 7-8lb female comin into a small swimmin area and nosing down on a small crappie spinner to males cruising gin clear flats with reeds an flippin a jig n craw they will BITE. Keep your eyes peeled and look out as far as the water clarity will allow, you want to see them longbefore they spot you. Even walkin the bank carelesslycant turn the fish off

I dont know how some of yall can get so upset by music, loud music. I put my phone volume on high and rock out haha. now jet ski's are too darn noisy n pesky.

Roboworm, rage craw, and jig n craw. Those are a few i hadluck with on a lake with 22ft clarity. On clear lakes the weeds grow much deeper, in my partivular lake 19ft max!

I can only really relate to tossing a jig around on ledges. I found this one spot that drops off abrubtly from the bank to 5-6ft, the flats out for just a few few and drops to 10-12ft. Then drops to 20+ down to 30+. Ive had good luck tossing right to the top edge of the first drop off and fishing a jig all the way down to the 20ft ledge under the boat. Ive also had luck sitting on the 10ft ledge and castingparallel. Working that certain depth.

If i didnt have to reload youtube everytime or i could find mp3 files, i like them fishin songs. Mike morazinni,casey ashley, the bait shop parody, etc. But i mostly listen to rock, the good stuff! Pantera,metallica and of course 5FDP. Im the guy headbangin while flippin docks.

I had lil confidence in jig fishing last year, changed that big time! Still have absolutly 0 confidence in rattle traps n red eye shad. I plan to purposly leave my tackle home and take a few rods an a box of traps to force myself to learn the trick to it

Find a women that doesnt mind all of your hours on a lake, and doesnt get mad when boxes show up with gear. First g/f of 4+ years got sick of my fishing and hunting. Was like pulling teeth tryin to get her to do something i liked doing. Bye bye she took off Present g/f grew up with a dad that took off for days up to aweek long fishin trips and spent money like he had a million in the bank. So she understands when gear shows up or i go buy stuff at wallyworld. This year she didnt complain at all even after finding out we have our 2nd child on the way. Even paid $200 on my layaway for an ice shanty n frabill ice suit. I am thankful to be blessed thats for sure.

I do believe there small shad/mino s, I see this alot on my local chain lakes here in michigan. I spent many days wondering too until they got close enough I could see a little clear/ translucent gray tail swimmin

Ive got a cheapo pair for now, but I have migraines so I really need the darkest lense I can find. I know thats not the best for fishin. I had this one pair of fake oakleys that changed the sunlight and everything blue, it made it extremley comfortable on my eyes. I lost them, haha I forget where I set stuff atIve searched and searched for another pair, anyone know what im talkin about, where can I find these?

I use a 1/0 widegap hook, just like a normal texas rig hook. I have had alot better hooksets with this hook vs those small hooks. I have a M action rod but im thinkin of tryin a MH next year to give me a lil more backbone. And yes a nice fast reel and steady lift should land more. I personally have lost more fish with the smaller hooks and have had much better luck switching

Fall fishing is on fire for me, took me all summer long of catchin dinks ans in the past month ive started catchin some of the biggest in the lake I think, im told theres 6+lbers but yet to see or hear of the catch. Talked to several ppl that say the bigguns are almost impossible to catch without minnows n bobbers and thw store owner said the biggest they'd heard of was 16" for this year, but yeah my fall fishin has been awesome. Ive had one jump of early this fall that probly woulda been my best for the year. That was caused by slacked line because he swam at me too fast. Otherwise if you watch your line and with a lil feel for the leap up n out of water ill actually pull harder and drag there head over. Alot of times I get too excited and they come skippin across the surface at me.

Id start with singles myself, they like to short strike the tails I noticed

Seems like to me theyve be on structure lately. I got those 2 from an homemade broken down since 90's boathouse. Theres alot of rocks and wood on this spot. The smallie I got last week that is in my profile pic I got that from this spot also.

I have a 7' pflueger with braid. I understand your money situation also. It really depends on what kind of fishin you do the most. For me I like flourocarbon for almost everything. Plus it super clear, sinks, and is low stretch. Id only use mono for topwater because it floats. Braid floats also but has very minimal stretch give you the most solid hooksets. Like I said before for now just try to keep your line tight to prevent the bow and just rip that hook into them and keep reeling. Maybe check your hook sharpness also. That can make all the difference.

Took the family out today with a bucket of minnows, it didnt take long before we had action. Mostly small fish but we got a couple keepers, I managed to land a 20-21in pike. We went threw 2 dozen minnows, and I just so happened to bring my jig rod with me, I had found one last blk-blue rage craw. First cast to a rockpile I pull this big girl out. Next cast I pull out this one. Big one was 19 inchs 3.5+ im guessing. This is my personal best ever smallie, I was siked, lol!

Monofiliment may be the problem, it has alot of stretch and it was 12 lb test. Next year try flourocarben it sinks and will give you a direct line to your jig instead of floating and bowing your line. When you set the hook just rip it straight back and reel reel reel. Ihad the same prob this spring and I changed to 50lb braid

Did you let a tad bit of slack in the line before settin the hook or the normal hookset. You really got to drive that hook in.
