  1. Thanks for the replies, what about an 6ftr because of trees, bushes on the banks
  2. What's up guys, right now I have this on an 5ft UL, but I'm thinking it might be to large for this rod. What do you guys recommend for rod size, backbone, and action. Keeping in mind that I am a bank fisherman. I see people us their spinning gear for drop shots, jigs with grubs and so on. I guess I would use this for lighter tackle and lures. Definetly want use it for bass. This would also be a set up my wife would use because she is not coordinated enough to use a baitcaster plus she just wants to catch anything. I probaply just get her one of those pink or purple lady fishing rods. So lets keep it to all about me it will be for bass then. Thanks for your help ahead of time.
  3. I have the new Prodigy, it's a nice looking reel. I can't compare it to anything because they are my first bait casting reels. They do work smoothly, and are easy to adJust.
  4. Try using a shorter rod when you are shore fishing with obstructions. I use an 6ft rod when I'm near bushes and trees, and an 7ftr when I'm in the open. That 1ft makes a difference. I use braid on both of them, and just change different leaders if needed.
  5. Just a thought, maybe there should also be a "indifference" or "it doesn't matter to me" option
  6. I can't really say how good my equipment is due to not having them that long, but I bought two of the Cabelas Prodigy b/c and 2 of their Eagle Fifty m/f b/c rods, and they have worked fine. I do like the fact the reels are made by Diawa which is actually printed on the reel. I guess I'll find out how well they perform when I get into more heavy fishing starting in the spring.
  7. No, I'm a Dolphin fan need I say more.
  8. DAAAAAAUUUUUUMMMMMMMMNNNNNNN!
  9. Clean my gear, and buy more tackle and maybe another rod. Scream at the tv when my sports team plays and sucks.
  10. And nice fish by the way. The scenery is nice around the lakes up here this time of year.
  11. What were you guys using?
  12. There is alot of crap in this lake. I was changing up my baits, but couldn't go thru all of them because of time Constraints.
  13. On Youtube I've seen guys attach it to a RC boat that is also a bait feeder. They drive around to find the fish and then release the bait where they find them. I think they like doing this in Europe.
  14. I was using a Rapala suspender, they would follow it , I would stop, then they stop and look at it. I would jerk it a little (stay out of the gutter) then they went
  15. Went fishing this morning-early afternoon, nice 70 degree weather, on and off overcast so I went to my "lucky" lake .Figured the warm weather would bring them closer to the surface and shallows. As you know or not I'm a bank fisherman. I threw out everything, tried different techniques and they would not bite , Oh yeah, I saw them following and looking at my "presentation". Then they looked at me and laughed ... Not really but it felt like they were. It was just one of those days . Still had a good time though.
  16. There Is An aquarium store by my house, and they have tank That's about eight foot high and 6 foot wide cube, and they have a huge Pacu, Peacock bass and a few huge cat fish Swimming in that thing. That definatly look like a job and a half maintaining that thing.
  17. I thought Zara Gossa was a D lineman for the Baltimore Ravens
  18. Which one is better, the wristwatch our the monitor (box), and how much do they go for?
  19. The land lubers would call this the "screaming diarrhea"
  20. Actually there is a wireless fish finder or depth finder that you tie to your line and cast out and you have little Monitor that will show you the feed back of the sensor that you have cast out. I think that's what one of op has.
  21. This will help me out alot also, for I am a bank fisherman as well.
  22. The funny thing about thIs thread is; the op was asking if there could be a bank fishing forum... now he has one. Once this thing gets more replies it should be stickied.
