WTG, Sounds like you had a great time out there!

What were you guys using?

And nice fish by the way. The scenery is nice around the lakes up here this time of year.

Nice fish and beautiful scenery

Good pics and fish. Thanks, Mitch.

Mitch, you guys have been nailing them pretty good since Halloween.

This is when the Northeast is looking it's best but fishing is sporadic.

Lights out one day, skunk city the next.

dinkers or hawgs. you never know. Just cover a lot of water and keep the baits on rotation.

Late last week it was four-wheeling squarebill cranks. This weekend they would only hit a jig and pork.

Thank you....You hit it spot on about changing baits and hitting the bite right on.......That's the key...While we may not get numbers this time of year, the quality is pretty decent!!!.........I have 4-5 go to baits for this time of the year and so far, so good...........FISH ON!!!!

Alright, so it's Chatterbaits and jigs. How do you vary your jig presentations?

I like to pitch in cover, swim through wood and any green weeds left over. Then as it gets colder it's dragging or small hops on the bottom.

In cold water, pork is more lifelike than a lot of soft plastics. In particular, I use small to medium size pork frogs. Do you ever use Uncle Josh pork products?

It's getting cold here in NJ....50 degree water temp....35 degrees air temps in the am.....I reel in and pop it just as slow as i can near weedbeds(which are still alive!!) and bump off the bottom.......I like  a 4" worm on the back as a trailer or a split tail......kills em every time!!!!

Remember when jig and eels where popular. That's essentially what you're throwing. I know guys that use a chewed up Senko as their trailer. They just trim back the torn part and thread it on their jig from the same end that was cut back.
