D, I used to use only spinning but now I have switched mostly to bait casting. I also have the silver max. I only use spinning when I'm trying to get in close and tight places. I guess I would say that, getting used to switching would be the case. I generally cast right, feather the line to stop where I want it, switch to left and pick up slack. Seems natural to me. I never thought about it much but I get so much better feel with the bait caster. 30lb. power pro line. I feel every tick. Got a 6-1/2 lb. yesterday and he only slightly ticked the worm. Once you get used to it, I personally feel that you will prefer bait casting. good luck. Tight lines, Jman

I'm just going to throw this out there. Most ads for fishing gear are designed to catch fishermen. My good old Wal Mart $19.00 fishing rod catches big bass just fine and those Walmart spinners work great as well. Just saying.

More often than not, I let out a GIANT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO when the pig I had hooked, gets away.

Yeah, my honey hole has come back to life again. Caught 1-3lbs. yesterday and missed 2 others. Sure was a long time to wait but now with the weather warming up, it's all head on from here. Tight lines all.

Moretolife---> check the local forums under the southeast bass section, under Florida bass, January edition. Lots of those guys fish it all the time. It sure IS cold down here in central Fl. and will be cold most of next week. Good luck with that. My particular honey hole has flat lined for now. Tight Lines.

Have fished during several major periods, where I know the fish are and didn't get a bite. I'm skeptical

That pond was just south of a apartment complex I used to work at. It was called Clipper Cove. (Name may have changed) but we used to ride our bikes there.

OK there is a pond just off congress on the right side just behind the bank. You might try that one. We caught several bass out of there.

Wow Lou, at least you're catching bass. My river has flat lined and I haven't gotten a fish in a week. Would be happy at this point to catch any size bass.

Guys, I have a question about lines. I am currently using fire line braid with a fluorocarbon leader. I like braided more than full fluorocarbon because for me, it cast's so much smoother and I get less back lash. It's time to re-spool--->Does anyone have an opinion on which braid is the best all around line??

Drat, my honey hole has gone totally flat. After catching those PIGS, I haven't had a hit in two days. Tough way to lose the competition BUT there's always tomorrow. Here piggy piggy piggy. Great pics of those pigs guys. Well done.

Looks like I am going to have to fish really hard the next couple of days. It would really suck to lose this months competition now. The last couple of days produced nothing and the possibilities look pretty slim that another PIG is waiting to be caught.

AND the fishin is GOOD.

Santa brought me more worms and other assorted goodies.

IT'S PIG DAY!!!!!!!!!!! Got this one this morning. What a Christmas present. The pig is 5-1/2 lb and it looks like 21-1/2. Movin on up in the standings. Thanks Lou and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AT BR. .

Lou, the PIG got away. The PIG got away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had him 3' from shore and he shook the bluegill crank bait. Got nothing on the 5" Senko today but almost cried when I lost the PIG. The only hit of the day. :cry3:

I really enjoy stirring everybody on. A little trash talk gets people going. BUT seriously, I am having fun and hope no one is taking any thing personal.
