Anyone Else In The Pinellas County Fl Area?
Anyone of you local guys in the Largo, Pinellas, Clearwater area ever fished Tarpon Lake? It seems to be a pretty easy lake to fish until about July. Could anyone share some tips for the summertime bass there? We are finding them in the South cove and canals lately. Maybe we could hook up some time and have a fish day. J

Share An Airboat Bass Fishing Trip Near Melbourne Fl
So Lou, that was a really interesting thread. I do however relate to your concerns. I met lucky 47 on this thread and we did go fishing once and it was great BUT I did have a small bit of reservation as I'm sure he did. We did have a great time as we basically fish the same methods. We actually intended to go more often but situations made it difficult to schedule. I am looking forward to going with him again later this fall. Hope our schedules work together. ANYWAY, the point is that one never knows what they are getting into. This is one crazy world out there. Good luck to all out there with your fishing. Are you going to start up the challenge again this year? Tight lines to all.

Lake Lanier In Georgia
Start down near the south dam on Lanier. The launch areas are somewhat good if you don't have a boat and the water is still cooler. That is one great lake but difficult to determine just where to start. Water is like 100 ' deep. Have you thought about Ft. Yargo state Park. Rather small lake of 200 acres and lots of bass. I caught several on spinner baits, right on the left of the west side launch in the lay downs. Had good luck there with spinner baits, chatter baits and plastic worms. Bass up to 5#. You can only run a boat with 10 HP but if your motor is bigger you will have to electric troll. Good luck .

Lake Delavan Wi 5/3/14 New Pb
Nice hog. That's a great lake with lots of structure. I left Wisconsin before I got a chance to learn it BUT you will do well. Tight lines, Jman

New Pb Again!
This formula is surprisingly close---> Measure length times length times girth divided by 1200. Example 18" fish and girth of 16" ----> So, 18 x18 x16 / 1200= 4.3lb.

Nothing Working
Not to feel bad friend. We went out last Thursday and got nothing BUT this crappy mud fish. We generally pick up about 5-9 bass, but not one bass did we catch. Nice day on the lake anyway. Tight lines, Jake3

Still Jiggin'
Need some jig advise. It's not simple for me. I swear that I have tried every method of fishing with a jig, watched video after video about it. I still cannot get a jig bite. What's up with that. Black blue, crayfish, white, stand up, bottom bumping, etc, etc, etc. I get lots of bass on trick worms, chatter bait, spinners and plugs but cannot get the jig bite. ADVISE PLEASE.

Remember Your First Bass?
Can't forget this one. My first bass actually caught me. I was puttering around in my boat on the river in back of my house at about 13 and a bass actually jumped into my boat. (Hard to believe, I know but true.) He was probably chasing something and I just happened to be there at the right time. Never once thought about bass being in my river till then. Started a whole new hobby then.

What Are Some Cheaper Plastics That Are Effective For You?
Does any body find a soft plastic that catches bass as good as the rage craw??? I get great results on the rage craw BUT they are awful flimsy. It only takes a couple of fish to destroy them. Most times if a bass doesn't inhale them, they just rip the claws right off. Good bait but way too soft.

The Mistake We All Make.
Wow, had a good time reading these post's most of the time until today. What's up with all the animosity? NO, I'm not the professional like most of you guys and I'm relatively new here but what's with all the angry comments and the name calling. Some sound like a bunch of play ground kids. (Your mother wears combat boots---> I know you are but what am I?) ands so on. ON topic. Before I moved to Florida 2 years ago, I fished memories all the time. The lake was Powers lake in Wisconsin. Right near the center of the lake were 2 under water islands next to each other. I fished them week after week and ALWAYS caught bass there. 19 one day 12 another 7 next and 12 the next on a drop shot rig in 12 -18 feet of water with green pumpkin worm. So there. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and has a right to express himself or herself without the fear of angry comments and name calling. I appreciate the ones who supported each other but I'll just throw this out there. NO ONE is always right all the time. Now those who want to rail on me, go ahead. I'm above your nasty comments. I am learning quite a bit on this forum about Florida lakes and how best to fish them as these lakes and the ever changing weather sometimes throws me a curve but I keep on trying to be the best bass angler I can be. Thank you to all those helpful comments and suggestions that I find here. They help a lot. Off topic, the most undesirable basser is the one who shows up at the dock with his load of bass and when you ask for any suggestions or where he found them, or what color, he replies, (out in the lake). I'm sure that my comments will offend the hot shots here. Then so be it. There are more than enough bass in any one lake for every one. Tight Lines, Jman

Solunar Tables
I have searched the forum for information on this but didn't find any. I do check the solunar tables from time to time and the question is, Are we supposed to add and hour to the prescribed feeding times to compensate for daylight savings. I myself haven't proven them right or wrong. I know some people swear by them. Others don't pay any attention to them. I would like to know what you guys think.

Lake Underhill
Underhill is a great bass lake. I used to live 15 minutes from there and fished it a lot. Always had good luck with plastic worms. My 5 lb. bass came on a gulp worm. Lots of good times there. On the air port side, fish worms right at the weed line and on the opposite side of the lake, fish the south west side near the cat tails. Good luck.

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
ds, that's a cool story and more common than you would think. I had the same issue here. The old lady next door came out to the side of the river where I was fishing and told me I couldn't fish here because it was for the home owners. I stated that, I am a home owner, BUT that wasn't good enough for her because I didn't have a house with direct access to the lake from my back yard. I actually live on a corner lot and that edge of the property belongs to the county. I really think old people are trippin on something. maybe they feel like they no longer have any authority and want to boss someone around to see if they can get away with it. By the way, NICE FISH.
