  1. Well i was smallie fishing draging a tube , hooked into a pound smallie.. And released went back to cast and was reeling back in i notice it was suddly really hard to reel it in and i had just cleaned , oiled up te reel. Had something broke or maybe got something in it? Its only a year old And being a vacation right now at An awesome smallie fishiery make this a tough loss for the trip. Any ideas what i should do? Send it back to abu for warrenty or to be professionally cleaned?
  2. Since the season has started i have been doing some experiementing with huge frustrations with spiderwire invisbraid breaking mid cast without back lash and on hooksets just b.s stuff. today i tryed 17 pound vicous pro elite flouro i belive and it just ticked me off every flip with loose coils and bird nests that did not make sence when i got them... just want to know what you guys prefer , i do alot of rock , timber and light weeds in both clear and stained water ... so my question is... you find best with braid and flouro leader (what pound tests?) or all flouro ( company and pound test)?
  3. oh i will add i'm experimenting with 6 pound invisa braid straight up no flouro leader compared to my brother who is using 8 pound sunline straight up... so far hes up on me 2 fish , same baits , same length from hook to weight
  4. id throw 10lb braid on and then tie a 6 pound leader on longer enough for the drop shot rig
  5. i use 10lb berkley 100% flouro and my brother uses 12lb sunline flouro , he bout catch equal amount of lake st clair , no real difference yet both can take a beating!
  6. considering ice was off 3 days ago. im up to around 10 biggest being around 2.5-3
  7. Yesterday i went out to do some pond fishing to test some gear out. I was using the wright mcgill rick clunn glass jerk bait rod (yeah the one that everyone went crazy for 30$) any ways first fish i hooked the first 6 inches broke off...I email them last night but my question is , what are my chances of getting a replacement rod since that model is discontinued? Another problem in this situation it was a gift from my parents which i dont have the reciept and since there divorce yada yada cant find it..... jerkbait season is here just my luck...
  8. Im all for Abu Garcia but d**n my brother had lews and the 99$ one is a hell of a good reel
  9. Must have been Beer O'Clock on a Friday
  10. wow ... musta been beer o clock on a friday
  11. pending on baitcast or spinning , i fish st clair year around and prefer spinning wise for tubes 7ft' medium Abu Garcia Veracity
  12. just for fun i bought a cheap crank out of walmart 2 years ago that had the "flashing lights" .... i havnt caught so many hammerhandles and small walleye! lol... but for bass never a single one.
  13. here is my "reel family" with 2 more on the way was going to get the rods and tackle but itd take a solid hour so spread er out lol All Abu Garcia's.. MGX 7.9:1 STX 6.4:1 TORO WINCH 4.6:1 (muskie) WINCH 5.4:1 C4 6.4:1 (muskie) SX30 (Spinning)

  17. usually gatorade after gatorade... throw in a few granola bars maybe a bag of chips.... lol
  18. I use to have a couple full cork rods....and then i went and bought a mojo bass a while back and haven't turned back to full cork... i have all split grip now! It is preference but i like it for comfort and confidence ... just feels better and i feel like i can cast much better with it that way.
  19. I definitely do better with smallies on topwater over largies. on lakes i've been in you throw a popper down shore line over some structure with some calm waters you can usually grab 5-6 in a evening... but for largemouth i find only time im productive enough is on a good set of pads...nice big opening and little froggy going acrossed
  20. Id have to say you get what u pay for...i have a few bps lures from jerk bait and cranks...hook upgrades are a must right out a package and running true is tough u have to find one speed or up to the top she comes..... for soft plastics i bought one of their "kits" and everything is dense and "stiff" ...there craws just don't move like berkley power baits or rage tails...and that's huge with plastics for me is the ease of action it can give. for worm style baits i cant give an opinion since i don't fish worm styled
