iuve been using one for 6 months about 5 days a week and I can say that yeah it works, and yeah invest the money (get the original model , not the KVD model cause you can get the kvd sounds as an expansion pack.) i currently have the baitfish, the KVD, and the crawfish expansion pack. I recently had to go without my hydrowave as i had to send it in for service (somehow i hoooked it up to 24 volts instead of 12) and personally called the owner of the company , tim?, on a saturday and i got him to help me out while he was at his daughter's softball game. they ended up shipping me a new unit. the 3 weeks i went without it reminded me of how it actually does work because my fish caught dropped by 50%. the post above about shad circling the boat, ive had a similar experience, and that's important to note , is that it will have an effect on the baitfish as well as the bass. personally my favorite sounds are the shad frenzy, KVD's "power pattern" and "schooling blitz" , crawfish sand frenzy, and the baitfish's "baitball" (the baitfish expansion pack is killer) . All the people who say it does work, why would we all lie about it?

I caught a 8.7 (as you see in my pic) and a 7.6 in a 2 day period in January , and a half dozen 6lbers in the exact same spot. Find a tree or stump that is on top of a hump or at the top of a drop off to find big bass. All of my the fish above were caught using missile baits . Try baby d-bombs , green pumpkin or green pumpin red , texas rigged with a tungsten 1/4 oz green pumpkin weight with a red wide gap gamu hook. or u can use a stand up shaky head. after you cast out , let it sit still for a minute or 2 and then twitch it slightly .

Are you kidding me? i moved from the east coast 7 years ago. i fished the potomac river for 14 years and the biggest bass i caught was 6lb. Ive been fishing lake casitas since october. since then i have caught a 8.6 and a 7.5 in the same week in January. a bunch of 6lbers and 5lbers too.

PM replied!! Tom is dead on about the spots to fish from shore at Casitas. and its hard to go wrong c-rigging it. How can you miss the red tracker? I've been there 5 to 7 days a week since october, hell if you go on google earth and look at casitas my boat is on the lake. everyone knows my boat even before i know them cause I'm there too much. I have to add that I have fallen in love with the stand up shaky head , so versatile and I'm finding soft baits that i'd never think to put on a shaky head working.

I fish lake casitas about 4 or 5 times a week (red bass tracker pro team, jeep grand cherokee). I can tell you that i only started fishing there this past october (moved from Washington DC 7 years ago) . i went 35 days before i caught my first fish. I'd be more than happy to take you out on my boat provided you pay for gas ($20) and bring me a soda. even if you can only go a half day or what not it's no problem. I hate to fish alone , so i'd have no problem taking you out. if you want to know the best shore spots or best baits to use you ca hit me up.

Fishing at Lake Casitas requires you to constantly adapt and change far more than anywhere i grew up fishing (Potomac River, Lake Anna) . I fish at the same lake as Tom and his advice is solid. As for Casitas, Top 5 Bag weights in the last tourney 2 weeks ago were 23.8, 22.7, 22.3, 22.1, 20.6 for 5 fish in 1 event. Hell, I caught a 6.2 and a 5.1 this week, and 2 months ago caught a 8.5 on a monday, and a 7.6 on a wednesday. So when he says he caught a 16lber, he means it.

buy the REI 100% goretex pants, i had the same problem with my REI jacket, just go buy their pants. Or if you can , find a north face outlet and buy goretex from them. I only wear north face when fishing (cause they have an outlet near me that's insanely cheap) and I swear by my goretex north face shoes, they're completely waterproof (even when i submerge my entire shoe)

Missle Bait Baby D Bombs in Green Pumpkin have out fished any sweet beaver or smallie beavers (420 cali color, etc) for me. Texas rigged with a g lock hook and a green tungsten bullet weight has just killled it this winter for me. I agree that reaction's beaver's and berkley's havoc craw are excellent , but missile bait baby d bomb works on tough and finicky bass in clear water in the dead of winter when nobody else is catching zip
