  5. So yesterday was my first time out fishing with one of my new poles(6'9 carbonlite spin). I took my son with me to a little pond in a neighborhood near my house. While we didnt catch anything it was still fun to finally be out again. I am glad though that I purchased more than one rod, because I changed baits quite a bit trying to find what the fish wanted. It was funny when I changed my son wanted to change so I see a knot lesson ahead for him.
  6. Just bought a veritas and a pro qualifier for my new set-up. The pq was on sale for 69.99 so I had to try it out, im waiting on string to come in so I can use it.
  7. I tried the fc knot as well and kept sliding out on me....not sure what i was doing wrong
  8. So I went to bps today to pick up a rod for pan fish and creek fishing. I seen that they had there bps pq on sale for 69.99.....so I got another one. Its 7:1 ratio and I matched it with a abu veritas 7' mh for 79.99. I bought it for around 140 because I had points on my rewards card......super excited. Also got their fluorocarbon xps for 9.97 because they matched there online pricing.
  9. I dont know much about this knot but I am gonna give it a whirl this year.
  10. Yeah I am usually the same way but I felt it was more important to build my arsenal at this time. It was a close decision though and im sure in the future i will try one, but am very excited about the rods i chose
  11. yep excited to get them on the water
  12. I only had one rod so I think I made a good choice I got the rods tonight
  13. thanks guys this is just the info i needed...makes it more appealing that they are 89.99...and the qualifier is 79.99
  14. thats true..will they replace it if its after one year
  15. I have a 6'3 g loomis bronzeback for that particular need. I just wanted something for different varieties like drop shot , shakey head single hooks(jigs, senkos, spinnerbaits etc).

  18. So I have some funds that came in and I have a chance to get a new rod. Im looking at the dobyns extreme spinning rod, I have read great reviews on this rod. But i could get a 2 bps carbon lite rods and a reel for that amount of money. I have seen some bad reviews on the bps rods but not too many. so the ones that have the experience with both whats your imput.
