I keep all my rods on the deck while trailering. I did it the whole summer and never really had any kinds of problems. As far as dirt is concerned i never really thought of that being a problem but it could be depending on where you're driving.
Chatterbaits are the best thing you could use around this time. I live in ohio and last year during early spring i was killin em' with the chatterbait. So i guess if its warm enough where you're at i would definetly recommend using them.
Normally i'm out there as soon as the ice melts all the way. They won't really start hitting hard until it warms up a little bit but you could probably get something.
I fish with someone all of the time. Its always good to have someone else there with you to ask for advice and to help with the boat, take pics. or help out with anything else or vice versa.
I have been thinking about stocking my man-made lake, its only about a year old and i really want to get some bass in there. Since the lake isn't very old and there probably aren't really any other fish in it, will bass survive in it if i put them in there? Will they find things to eat?
