Slow Going But Still Possible
Instead of coming up with an outlandish question to ask during these hard times, I went out and caught this little one to bug you guys with. Hit a 1/4oz redeye shad. Guides were iced up BAD...I'm fed up with winter and there's still quite a bit of it left!

Bama Sticks And Critters...
Otters are pretty cool. I had one swim up and look at me while I was crappie fishing last year in February.

What I Hate About Bass Fishing
If you want a truly hard fighting fish, don't target largemouth. Outsmarting them is what I enjoy, you can't find a more dynamic fish out there to to pursue.

I Am Back On The Forum After Being Gone For Some Time!
Judging from the fishing that Winkiedoodles on youtube does, there is a pretty good winter bite on Table Rock!

The One That Got Away!
Probably would have beat Manabu Kurita's fish.

They get bit. Don't worry. Of course I'm fishing for stupid east coast fish that have never seen a bait like that before

Crankbait Suggestions
I strongly recommend the KVD 1.5, they are excellent baits and don't break the bank (comes in tons of colors too). I have also done well with the 1.0, haven't fished a 2.5 yet. Eager to try the new wakebait.

Lure Advice Needed
The new gets tons of pressure, I would suggest sticking with finesse presentations, and topwater in the early morning. T-rig a 3" senko with a 1/16 or 1/8oz weight and let it drift along the bottom, twitching it every now and then.

Back Reeling
4lb test, no backreeling 4lb test, no backreeling It's just unnecessary, reels these days have drags that can handle it. And if you backreel, you don't get to hear that thing SINGIN'!

I had a day this summer when the bass were really fired up eating a 6" bull shad and an 8" BBZ. I probably only landed a dozen fish, but almost all of them were in the 3-6lb range, and I lost a fish that was probably 8lbs, just couldn't keep his head under water.. This all took place from dark thirty until about 2 hours after sunrise on a river roughly 20 yards wide. The water was clear enough for me to see every strike!- Swimbaits From Land Or Sea ?
^THIS...the problem is, boats/kayaks/float tubes are prohibited at my favorite spot. I get to go swimming a lot- Swimbaits From Land Or Sea ?
They definitely will, but it doesn't happen very often at all (at least for me). Once they get within 10 feet of me they tend to drop further and deeper behind the bait, before swimming off. I did have a fish that caught me so off guard that I had to let line out to land him!- Versatile Trout Flies
- Fishing On A Budget
Get a medium action baitcaster or spinning combo, spool it with 10-12lb mono, and go from there. Specialized rods help but you can still get it done with one setup. Get a few basic baits, squarebill, topwater, spinnerbait, and t-rig stuff. If you're really into it, the bday and holiday $ will go straight to fishing- Pre-Spawn & Spawn Bass Behavior

A boat gives you more freedom to fish different spots, but you can be much more stealthy from the bank. No way to hide from a follower when you are in a boat, but if you play your card right when fishing from the bank, they will still eat inches from your rod tip. Don't go looking for anything in saltwater that will compare to what you had in FL......- Tagging Bass And Other Fish
I tagged and released a 26" baby cobia from a pier in the Outer Banks last summer. Now if someone else catches it I will get a letter in the mail about the details! Pretty cool.- What Is A Good Price To Pay For A Beginner Fly Combo
I strongly reccomend TFO Lefty Kreh signature series. If you go to BPS they will hook you up with a Hobbs Creek reel and line for pretty cheap w/ the TFO. Ends up being around $150 for the whole thing - Top Of Your Personal Game
