  1. Took them back yesterday after work. They replaced them no questions asked. The guy in line behind me laughed when I told the girl behind the counter that they both broke the first time I used them. He probably thought I shut them in a door or something. Question for you, what stops people from taking back stuff that is years old and getting a store credit for an upgrade?
  2. Had them both about a week. I am thinking I hit them on something, no reason for them to break like that unless they were already weak from something. I am going to try to take them back to Academy today after work. A lot of people are saying that they will replace your fishing gear with no questions asked without a receipt.
  3. I am reading on texas fishing forums and people are saying that Academy (where I bought the rods) will take them back without a receipt no questions asked. I guess I will try that first. Anyone heard similar stories about Academy?
  4. Was fishing a small pond yesterday with lots of matted grass. Was popping a jig through the grass like I always have before and the tip of one of my Falcon rods snapped off. This was a Med/Heavy 6'6" original Falcon rod. The jig wasn't stuck and I didn't pop it any harder than I normally would. I thought it was really weird, I was kinda ticked that it happened like that but I picked up my other Falcon and kept fishing. The other Falcon rod is a 6' medium action original. I was fishing a spinner bait and I got caught on some grass on the shore right in front of me. I gave it a small pop (being careful because of what had just happened) and the tip of this rod snapped off too. These rods were bought from the same place at the same time one week prior. They snapped within 5 minutes of each other. I have been fishing for years and I have never broken a rod. If it was just 1 rod, I wouldn't think nothing of it, but it was both rods. Does this sound like any kind of defect in the rod? Would this be something that MIGHT be covered under Falcon's warranty? The reason I ask here first is because someone might have some experience that I should know about before I call Falcon and try to convince them that it was not misuse. I paid $80 for each rod, so I would like to get them replaced if possible. Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I like to fish the soft plastic scum frogs. You can literaly cast these things into patches of floating grass and not get hung up. They are great for lilly pads because you can cast them on top of them and kinda jump them around just like a real frog would do. Wanna see a crazy strike? Watch a bass jump up to hit a frog that is sitting on the edge of a lilly pad.
  6. Same as Buzzking. I also like the way a Largemouth looks. Smallies are ugly, lol.
  7. Im going to post on this topic but you might not want to follow this to the T. This is what i think....... No, fish cannot feel sonar waves. When ever you get an X-ray on your broken arm, can you feel it? When ever you are warming up some left over pizza in the microwave, can you feel it? How about when you are in the middle of the lake in the summer time.... can you feel the actual "rays" from the sun? Thats just what I think though, I could be wrong. Hope this helps.
  8. Houston, Texas here. Wont ever leave Texas because I dont understand ice fishing..... ;D
  9. LOL, you guys might get a laugh out of this one. If any of you ever see me at the mall or in a womens shoe store...... you know that im going fishing tomorrow.
  10. I probably should have mentioned that I dont like any fish. I love shrimp and crawfish but I hate the taste of fish. That isnt the reason that I catch and release though. Since I started fishing, I have grown very fond of Bass. It may sound stupid but after studying an animal for years, I dont like to see them injured or killed. I could care less about other fish. I just cant stand to see Bass being killed.
  11. Does it upset any of you catch and releasers when you see people taking home a bunch of Bass legal or not? It makes me want to :'(
  12. What is Ice fishing? LOL, J/K. I just cant grasp the concept of ice being anywhere except in my freezer. God, I love Texas......
  13. My dad got me into fishing when I was about 5 years old. He used to fish tournaments and what not. I remember my first Bass ever. Since then I have been "hooked" on Bass fishing. Me and my dad were best friends for years, until I became Einstien (aka Teenager). We had enough fights in our time to start our own UFC. At the careless age of 17 years old I packed my stuff and moved out. Since then me and my dad have not been the same. We talk from time to time and I try to let him know how much I love him, but some things were said that neither one of us can take back. I want to become a guide for pure love of the sport and to show my dad what a good teacher and father he is. Anyways....... thats who got me in to Bass fishing.
