Fly Fishing Bass Rod
It works. I have used every lure imaginable this way. Trust me nothing works better than a 6" lizard. Falling on an inside turn or taking off on an outside turn is too irresistible for them. I have caught them this way on a every body of water I have fished. This is my go to method on days when the bite is slow. Great search method as well though obviously not legal in tournaments.

Fly Fishing Bass Rod
I use both a 6 wt and an 8 wt. I use a 6 wt for throwing poppers and the 8wt for throwing clousers. My wife loves to troll for bass with a flyrod. Trolling the 8 weight carolina rigged with a lizard 150'ft from the boat doing s turns will land you more bass than you can ever imagine. Though not conventional, it is a great way for kids or anyone for that matter to catch a boat load in a day and have a ball doing it.

20Lb Braid For Drop Shotting
Yes, that was my concern that the heavier line would effect natural movement but then again I normally use a heavier 1/4 oz drop shot weight since I fish the river. Maybe to compensate using a lighter drop shot weight? I'll give it a whirl. As I stated it was half off so not out much if it doesn't work effectively.

20Lb Braid For Drop Shotting
Yes. It was $10.

20Lb Braid For Drop Shotting
Would 20lb super 8 slick be too heavy for drop shotting? My initial guess is no but I know most people use 15 lb and below, not sure why when you are tying on a small diameter leader that holds the bait anyway? I normally use an 18" 6-8 lb flouro leader. Picked up 150 yards of super 8 slick 20 lb off of ebay for half off and was going to use it to replace my fire line crystal which I dislike.

Tatula Or Lexa
Would you dish out another $30 and get the Tatula for $100 or save $30 and get the Lexa for $70? I have a Tatula and it is awesome but the Lexa for $70 sounds like a pretty good deal. I have a Skeet Reese crankbait rod on the way that I got for $49 and the Lexa for $69 would get me a cranking combo for just under $120. Have seen some negative reviews on the Lexas giving out after a few outings so a little apprehensive. Also if you know of a better reel in the $70 ball park chime in.

Wright And Mcgill Skeet Reese S-Glass Crank Bait Rod
Anyone have one of these? They seem to have pretty decent reviews for what I have seen but not many out there. Not sure if Skeet himself uses this exact rod for his crank bait fishing but it looks like he does in his videos. They have them at Walmart on Close out for $69.00. Seems a little heavy but I love the glass feel and the very soft tip. Seems like it could cast a crank bait a country mile. Never owned a bait specific rod before and I really think the color is kinda cool. Also, why is the design on this rod so thick at the butt section?? I realize the reason for the soft tip for cranks but the butt section of this rod is enormous which makes it feel heavy.

Seagur Red Label Vs Vicious Fluro.
Another for Red Label. Vicious is vicious.

Smithwick Rattlin' Rogue
Looking to add some of these to my limited el cheapo jerk bait collection. These seem to have great reviews and are very reasonably priced. I would love to have the money to buy some LC pointer 100's but they are above my budget and I lose a lot of baits where I fish. A little hesitant to buy LC pointers when I could buy several more of these Rogues and feel a little less of a hit when I break one of these off. Can anyone comment on how they compare? Is it apples to oranges?

Power Pro Super 8 Slick
Yes I have tried regular fireline and agree it is a much better feeling line than crystal but it seems to seperate quite badly. Allthough I haven't had any break offs per se, I have never felt confident keeping it on the reel. I have heard good things about 832 and may give that a test drive as well. I thought and read about Nanofil and aside from the price, there are plenty of reviews that say it is a very weak line, not to mention I have never been a fan of Berkley after I tried Vanish. I have had more break offs from that 1 line alone than all others combined.

Lews Speed Spool A Good Reel?
I had bought one from dicks for $99 last season and had issues with mine (grinding feel and a loud screech on the cast) after a few months of using it. Took it apart and gave it a thorough cleaning and it still works but not as smooth as it was when I bought it. I have never had issues with any of my other bait casting reels in that price range- Pro Qualifier, President, and Tatula like I have had with the Lews. The reviews are awesome on the Lews and maybe I got a lemon, but I will never purchase one again. After receiving my latest Christmas gift, Shimano Curado i, I am not turning back. That reel has the most amazing feel, smoothest retrieval, and casting ability of anything I have ever used and for an extra $40 well worth the upgrade.

Dilemma
Now that I am hooked on this sport of bass fishing, I am on the hunt for purchasing a used fiberglass bass boat. I have a 20' Starcraft Starfire v-hull that is big and bulky, quite heavy, and not the most user friendly boat to bass fish out of. In my search, there are no fiberglass boats for sale in my area and I rarely see one on the waters that I fish. When I asked a local bass fisherman who has an aluminum bass boat the reason why, he states that the lakes are not conducive for fiberglass because they are way to rocky and I would be a fool to purchase one. I understand that rocks are not fiberglasses best friend but should this be the only reason other than the locals laughing me off the lake to shy away from purchasing one?

Good Drop Shot Lures For Smallmouth?
Zoom trick worms 4-6" are the bomb for me. As has been said, anything plastic will work but the trickworms in green pumpkin for some reason out fish all other plastics for me.

Power Pro Super 8 Slick
Was wondering if anyone has tried this line in either 10 or 15 lb test on a spinning reel for drop shotting? I have been using fireline crystal with 5-6 ft of 6 lb sniper fc as a leader and have had good results but hate the feel of the line during the retrieve (not very smooth), better than regular braid but was wondering if the power pro super 8 slick stays as smooth as it feels for very long?

What Technique Or Lure Do You Hate To Fish?
Jigs. I must be the worst bass fisherman in the world because I have only caught 1 bass on a jig. Can't feel the bite. Next would be weightless wacky rigged senkos.

What Are Some Good Shakey Head Jigheads?
I hammer smallmouths in the river using 6" zoom Lizards in green pumpkin or 6" bass pro green pumpkin/magic pearl. My most confident plastic setup I use. I used to throw carolina/texas rigs with Lizards but the shaky head presentation is much better, at least for me. I catch them year round with this setup.

Treble Hook Replacement
I have about a dozen crankbaits that probably need hook replacements for the upcoming season. Most are 1.5 and 2.5 KVD squarebills. What size treble hooks should I buy? Also, do red hooks make a difference?

Team Daiwa T Casting Rods
Anyone have any info on these rods? They are $39 at TW. Just picked up a Tatula for $60 off of Amazon (with a $40 gift card) and am looking for a rod to go with it.

Bass Boat Weight Limitations
Never owned a bass boat, always have had v hulls. Out of curiosity, what would happen if I took out 4 200 lb adults on a 115/150hp Z6 or Z7 Nitro? I see they normally have 3 seats but was wondering how the boat operates with a large load capacity?

Son Catches 2 Fish At The Sametime On Crankbait
Well there goes my theory on the equivalency of a hole in one, unless you are a really good golfer.
