  1. You fellers should use eBay for the gamakatsu hooks. I can get like 6 packs of 5 for like $10 and the bulk 25 pack for like $8
  2. Reminds me of a time I was fishing off a dock, guy comes up with three labs. He sends all three into the water right next to me then says "you don't mind if the dogs swim right here do you?". Guess my response is why I've yet to see him or his dogs return.
  3. I knew it was a lot the Ncwlc released. I hope to see some in the lakes near me soon. Those hybrids look like they'd be fun to hook up with.Edit: here's the article on the bass. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/06/19/4116724/coming-to-lake-norman-hybrid-striped.html#.Uu2stn-9KSM
  4. I can tell you the Nc wildlife released something like 300,000 hybrid bass last fall. I personally don't fish lake Norman, too much traffic for me. I went to High Rock last week and the water was very muddy from all the crazy weather we've been getting the last few weeks. Good luck and I hope you enjoy Nc.
  5. We all know "yonder" is what direction the head nods.A country mile if driving in North Carolina is exactly 1.56792 and 1/10th of a mile
  6. When your wife knows exactly what aisle your on in bass pro When your three year old daughter has her own plastics in her "pocket book". When your wife understands that mothers days is an annual fishing trip If you've ever pierced you ear with a EWG, and a Saved the hook because it was still "new". Your dog has his own bass pillow.
  7. Does anyone else on these forums use silstar rods?I'm absolutely in love with these blanks. I've been using a 6'8" med action for some T-rigging, and man is it deadly.
  8. Welcome, around the Badin, Lake Tillery area nc.
  9. You're not alone with the love for plastic worms. Zoom is my main goto brand, I mostly use Finesse Worms, and some magnum finesse. If you're searching some some good custom baits check out Jak's Custom Baits. He make those hard to find color patterns, and has no problem adding a scent to them, he has everything from coffee to crickets and anything inbetween. www.jakscustombaits.com
  10. Thanks everyone, glad to be here. As for the fishing stories, well it's got to warm up before I can start telling those.
  11. Hello to the bassresource community, my name is Sam aka Fabricator. I've been fishing since I could walk (mostly panfish at that point) mostly in my home state of North Carolina. Around age 8 I started catfishing, and spent the next 16 years perfecting my technique, and catching some monster's in the progress. Now I'll go ahead and admit I used to trash talk all you bass fisher's, I just couldn't see the point in spending hundreds of dollar's on lure's , entering tournoment's,and buying $40,000 bass boats. Mostly I couldn't understand why you were obsessed one fish? We'll let's fast forward to March of 2013, A fellow fishing buddy of mine asked me to tag along in a night Bass tournoment, I agreed and so began my obsession. Now I've fished countless hour's in my short time, caught many fish, yet never had this level of excitment with a fishing pole in my hands. So here I am, joining a fishing fourm dedicated to the one's I used to bash, and I must say it's great being here. Also thanks to Glenn. You've really helped me getting started on this path, from hook selection, to reading the water color. Sam Owner of Honey Hole Rod's
