Charlie Allen Is At It Again!
Mexican lakes are tough to fish...I fish them all the time; lakes like Sugar Lake and El Cuchillo...soft plastics work best flipped and pitched in general, but the bute gets tough and some days you can't even get a limit just as is the case in most lakes certain times of the year...I seriously doubt they caught 650 bass

Line for spinning reel.
I only use 10 lb Fireline on spinning and it works great...only time I prefer Fireline over Power Pro.
-
Red?
I used it but have never caught a bass on it...I have caught catfish and saltwater fish on it though

Falcon Rods
I own an original, a Cara, and a Lowrider and I love them...I once broke a Lowrider and they exchanged it no questions asked and without a receipt mind you. It depends on how you ask them...if they see you are a loyal customer they will gldly exchange a defective rod no questions asked...you just pay shipping to them and they send it back free. For the buck, they are awesome rods.

Norman DD 22s
thanks for all the tips...I hope I catch some on these so I'll build my confidence in deep crankin'

Norman DD 22s
I'm going to work on deep crankin this summer but I have never used a Norman DD22 or Rapala DT16. I usually fish plastics and jigs. My question is...do you catch fish on these? And if so, how do you use them? I've fished cranks before but when I saw the size of the DD22 I was surprised at how big it was compared to the Baby 1- and Bandits I normally use... Are all DD22's that big or are there some the smaller like the size of a Rapala DT10 for example?

This is why Rapalas are the best
Completely agree! Rapalas just have that something for catching record fish...my favorite crankbaits by far

Sharing secret baits/techniques
Don't be paranoid about sharing thinking that all of us are going to pack our bags and head to WI...I don't believe in secret baits per se...its all a confidence thing. i have confidence in texas rigged watermelon colored plastics, but another member may hate them and he/she kills them with spinnerbaits or cranks...besides, no one lure works the same everyday, any knowledgeable bass fisherman knows that so don't be afraid to share and you'll realize that you'll learn many things as well. Welcome aboard

Thoughts on 10 inch + worms?
I would like to know your thoughts on the effectiveness and applications of where and when to throw worms 10 inches or more. I have a couple 12 inch worms in tequila sunrise and watermelon, but I have only caught two bass, albeit they were big bass. Do you have confidence in these oversized lures? Do you just T-rig them or weightless? Hope some of you could respond

"walk the dog" and topwaters
really simple answer: just cast it out and start twitching your rod tip down making sure you have a little slack left in the line when you reel. Develop a cadence where every time you twitch your rod tip you have just enough slack in the line for that side to side motion to occur. Its one of those things you just have to practice. Just make sure to use mono or braid, I prefer mono for topwater...don't use fluourocarbon because it sinks and hinders the action of the lure a bit.

FireLine Crystal
sucks! stick to original...its not translucent, its milky white

Anyone use Dacron Braided line?
Has anyone used Dacron? I'd like to know what you think and how it handles and stands up to a fight. I'm looking to use it for surf casting on the beach. Any input is well appreciated .

Power Pro Phantom Red
almost true, but red doesn't disappear...its percepted as black or a shadow
-
worm colours
watermelon seed all the way. its worked in every lake I've fished in the states and in Mexico

Jigs with a Wire Guard
don't need wire guards...just trimming the fiber guard at a 45 degree angle works excellent
