This is why Rapalas are the best

Completely agree! Rapalas just have that something for catching record fish...my favorite crankbaits by far

Rapala makes some fine lures at reasonable prices. I especially like the Original Floater, Countdown, X-Rap and Husky Jerk. The_Muddy_Man sent me a couple of Jointed Rapalas that I am looking forward to using. He has had good success with these lures and I'm sure I will, too.

I been using a Rapala original floater since I was a kid always caught fish with it,something so simple but just catches fish!Always have one tied on a rod.

I still have the first Rapala Original Floater I bought in 1964 for $2.35.  That was a whole bunch of money in those days.  I bet I caught 250 bass on that one lure before I finally put it away.  I plan to mount it in a shadowbox of some sort and hang it on the wall in my cave.

In the years since, I have bought and lost dozens of Rapalas.  I don't know why that one never got broken off.

This year I have started using an X-Rap to target cruising fish following the schools of shad.  As light as it is, I can cast it a mile so I don't have to get too close to the schools of baitfish and spook them.

Agreed.  I have caught more fish than I can count on the original floater and the J-7.

They always swim true.
