  1. I own 3 pflueger spinning reels and they are all quiet and smooth as butter. Maybe you have a defective reel or something happened to it that you are unaware of. Nothing but the best from Pfluegs in my experience.
  2. Pop-r's. That's the first artificial lure I caught a bass on and one of my "go-to's" ever since. Nothing quite like a topwater strike to get your blood flowing!
  3. This. Pluegers are fantastic reels.
  4. Looking to pair my new Pflueger Supreme spinning reel with a solid rod that i'll use for drop shotting and weightless softplastic fishing Most of my rods are Fenwick and i love them. My budget is $75-150 and looking for some input to get the bass to --->
  5. The fish will be looking up at the bait seeing mostly the underbelly. I was always under the impression the pattern isn't super important as long as it's a natural color and not hot orange.
  6. Caught my biggest bass on a trigger X 10 inch hammerworm in dark purple last year (5 pd 9 oz). That being said I don't think they're anything out of the ordinary. I dont seem to notice too much variation from soft plastic brands aside from some rare instances (senko>> other stick baits). It's how you fish them thats key, and what the bass want of course.
  7. Find big boulders/snags/ water ripples and toss the dropshot on the side of the break in the water current and wait. You'll get the smallies with that. I liked flukes, small worms, and even a craw/creature bait to use like this. If all else fails tie on a mepps and catch em with ole' reliable.
  8. I will add a vote for Pflueger. I own the president and supreme and love them both. I don't think I'll ever get any other brand of spinning reel aside from the Pfluegs.
  9. Pflueger President is around 60 and the Supreme is around 100, great spinning reals. As far as rods i'm partial to anything St. Criox or Fenwick, depending on the application/sale I'm pretty loyal to these brands, never had a bad experience with any of them. Can't say the same for some other brands. (abu, shimano, etc.)
  10. Thanks for the replies, looks like i'll be looking into some Roboworms.
  11. Curious to see what people reach for first when dropshotting. I'm looking to gear up when a sale rolls around and wanted to see what others are rigging up!
  12. Been here about 2 weeks, great people and great info. Welcome!

  14. I've had my President for about 2 years and i love it. I recently went and picked up a Supreme from Cabelas and the reel is a little lighter and smoother than the President. Casts like a dream too. I'd say it's worth it to pick one up if you like your President, the Supreme is a good value.
  15. Hey! A friend told me about the site and I've been reading topics ever since. Finally decided to make an account and contribute myself. Just graduated college and have enough time to really get into fishing. I also do a little salmon fishing in the creeks of Lake Michigan but thats neither here nor there. Excited to learn some new tricks and get some advice from fellow anglers. -Dan
