  1. I can't find many reviews on the new Imx-Pro spinning rods. The only review I can find is on TT on the 822DSR drop shot rod. I'm wondering if anyone has any feedback on the rods? I'm specifically interested in the 901SJR. Many thanks.
  2. Zoom 4" Dead Ringer, Curly Tail, and Centipede. Texas rigged with 1/16, 1/8 or 3/16oz. bullet weight on a Owner Rig-N-Hook in size 1 or 1/0. Also will throw it on a Decoy Nail Bomb 1/16 and 1/8 oz jig head with a size 1 hook.
  3. Thanks. I'll be fishing 8' to 30' as I fish small, relatively small lakes.
  4. I've never used a Carolina rig but used a Mojo rig but that's been over 20 years ago and didn't like the line twist associated with it. I wanted to ask you guys when you use a Carolina rig for Smallies? What length and lb. test you use for a leader in different situations? What baits? Size of weight depending on depth, fishing in rock, weeds and a soft bottom? Any other tips you employ with the Caralina rig?
  5. That's what I've read as well. I will take it in consideration. Appreciate it.
  6. I was going to order this Rod but they have had breakage issues and all the models have been destroyed and will be available late fall. The Orochi XX is top of my list. Great info. Thank you. The CB sounds more suited for jerks than the c models. I didn't realize so many guys are using the cb's for Jerkbaits. It's coming down to the Orochi XX and the 704cb. Thanks for your feedback.
  7. This is actually what I'm looking for. Many thanks jakkbauer. I'm 6' 3". I need the extra length so the Rod will be past the end of the pontoons. I did go on their website but I don't think they'll ship to Canada. I did send them email.
  8. Fantastic. I missed this Rod in my research. Definitely on my list. Thank you. Thanks for your feedback. How do you find the action on the 704cb(graphite)? Mod. fast or fast?
  9. Thanks A-Jay. I've read good reviews on this Rod. I'll do some more research on it. I'm somewhat still set on a 7 footer. The Champion 704c is on my list. I think this model might be a better fit for me than the 704cb. Thanks for the reply.
  10. I'm looking for a 7' rod mostly for jerkbaits and some top water. I prefer more of a fast/extra fast action for these two applications. I'm really happy with the St. Croix 68 MXF but looking for something longer as I'm fishing out of a 8' pontoon boat. I'm looking to spend $200 - $300. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
  11. Actually it's what I wanted to hear. I appreciate your candidness. I'm going with a topwater/jerkbait technique specific rod. Thank you.
  12. Thanks guys. I'm going to give it a try for topwater this weekend. Right now I'm using a Shimano Clarus 7' crankbait rod for topwater and it's not doing the job.
  13. Not my first choice either but I can get it for such a good price. The Cdn.$ is killing us up here right now.
  14. I have an opportunity to pick up a Loomis Bronzeback SMR813C-SP(6'9" Casting Med.-Heavy Fast action 10-17lb. 1/4-3/4 Jig specific technique) for a good price and was wondering how this rod would be for fishing 3/8-5/8 oz. walking baits, poppers, propbaits and jerkbaits? Too stiff perhaps? I do want a fast action. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
  15. Thanks for the replies guys.
  16. I have an opportunity to purchase a NRX 852S for a very good price. Soon as I had this rod in my hand, I was amazed. I own 2 NRX fly rods and they are the finest rods I've fly fished. I own a IMX 782 SJR but this NRX is no doubt a big step up. If I do decide to pick it up I'll be using it for drop shotting, throwing Flukes, Senkos and small swimbaits. I'll be using PP Superslick #15 with #8 flouro. I read somewhere that the knot between the braid and leader will somewhat "hang-up" for a lack of a better word passing through the recoil guides. I'm not sure how much of an issue this would be as I have not actually fished a rod with recoil guides with a braid-flouro set-up. Any input on this or the rod itself?
