  1. I plan on using more of the 2 3/4" tube this season. Wanted to ask you guys what you are rigging these with? What jig heads, internal wieghts, Weedless options, etc. do you use? I have used these for dropshottin and have been productive. Any brand recommendations you prefer and colors?
  2. https://jadesjigs.com/collections/frontpage I received an order last week from them. Very happy with what I received.
  3. Recieved an order today. Very impressed. They offer great selection in weight , Color and hook size and style. They're a bizmuth/tin alloy head. 1/32 oz./#6 to a 1/4oz./#3/0.
  4. Done very well on the Pompadour Jr. on Largemouth and to a lesser degree, Smallies. Definitely will p/u this bait. Looking forward to the Evergreen Shower Blows in the new 3" version.
  5. Arbogast Mudbug Arbogast Sputterfuss Heddon Dying Flutter Humper(I can't remember the company name. Basically a Cotton Cordell Big O knock off.) Mann's Stingray grub Rapala Countdown Jointed minnow(Lost my last one last season.)
  6. https://bpjighead.com/shop/tru-set-weedless-crappie-jigs-116oz-5-pack/ Found these heads. Not sure of the hook style.
  7. Steelhead replied to Mobasser's topic in Fishing Tackle
I had a yellow and black Smithwick Devil's Horse that was a very good top water. Lost it on a big Smallie years ago. Also have a black and yellow Spence Scout that never did catch a fish. Never threw it much as I just didn't have the confidence in it.
  8. You might be right. The swinging head could be a possibility. BTW, the measurements I took included the head. Charlie Brewer's website stated the Weedless crappie slider hook is 1". I'm thinking that doesn't include the head. I have been thinking of a mushroom head just as a weight with a line thru like a bullet weight. Maybe a crazy idea. Anyways, I still prefer a #2 mushroom head as the EWG offset heads do deaden the action. So far, the Decoy Nail Bomb in #2 is the best I've used.
  9. Did you order the #2? It's the one I mostly use. It measures 1 7/16 inches. It's a little longer than what I prefer. The Lifted Jigs EWG Ned head is 1 9/16 inches. The Zman Finesse Shroomz which is a #2 hook measures in at 1 1/16 inch. I'm going to place an order for the Charlie Brewer Weedless Crappie Slider head. The website states it's a #1 hook and measures 1 inch long. I think it won't be long that someone comes up with a small mushroom head EWG offset hook that will be around that 1" size. Another option which works ok is using the Zman finesse Shroomz Texas rigged.
  10. I hear ya. I don't want to spend the money on a new computer/laptop. New fishing gear... yes. Maybe a tablet.
  11. I did have. My desktop went down with the black screen of death and then a couple of months later my laptop did the same. I'm now using my old IPhone 3. It's small and slow. It's awful.

  13. I agree that the 1/0 offset EWG mushroom heads deaden the action. IMO they're too big. I've tried the Flatlands Custom Tackle Weedless Ned and the Lifted Jigs Ned EWG head and both are 1/0. I've been waiting impatiently for a manufacturer to produce a #1 offset/EWG mushroom head. For fishing wood/brush I use two different rigs. The Owner Rig-N-Hook comes in a #4,2 and 1(TW doesn't stock #4 & 2) offset hook but I wouldn't consider it a EWG. I peg a 1/16oz. bullet weight and it works excellent. The second is the Decoy VJ-71 "Nail Bomb" head. It's basically the same as the Owner Ultrahead Finesse Ball Head and comes in a #2 hook in 1/32, 3/32 and 1/16oz. and a #1 in 1/32, 3/32, 1/16 and 1/8oz. I ordered them from Japan and have fished them the last three years and been very happy with the results.
  14. Your favourite Ned rig jig head color?
  15. Green pumpkin TRD with a 1/15oz finesse Shroomz head for both. I'll be experimenting with blue, red and chartreuse heads this season.
  16. LMB: 1/2 ZinkerZ Watermelon 1/15oz. green pumpkin Finesse Shroomz 6.4(PB) SMB: Evergreen Shower Blows 105 Natural Gill 5.1
  17. Kalin's 3" Lunker Grub in clear hologram, smoke hologram, bluegill and avocado. Berkley 3" Power Grub in white. I use the Owner Ultrahead Bullet Rig in 1/16 and 1/8oz.
  18. Great reviews on TW. From what I've read, it has the similar backward glide/fall as the Fat Ika. Thanks.
  19. I use a couple of different rods depending on what else I'm throwing: Loomis NRX 852 JWR Dobyns Champion 702S I use all Shimano 2500 reels with #10 PP w/ #8 Invizx or Sniper. I like the sensitivity of the NRX and the softer tip of the Champion. For me, the ideal small swimbait Rod would be the GLX 842 SJR.
  20. Me too. I still have them up in the garage attic. I've read good things on the Yo-Zuri lipless vibe. I'm going to do more research on flutter spoons. Thanks Tom. The Gami G-Finesse Trickyhead Shakeyhead has a tight "death spiral". Did well on it this past season with a Z-man Finesse Wormz.
  21. Great action. Very unique. Thanks for posting.
  22. What baits/rigs have the "death spiral"? Tubes, especially internally weighted have it. Some soft jerkbaits, some shakey heads and lighter Ned rigs also have that spiralling fall. Some have a slow, wide spiralling fall and others have a faster, tighter fall which seems to depend on the combination of style, shape and weight of the bait/rig. Wanted to ask you guys what other baits and/or rigs that have that tantalizing, deadly "spiral of death"?
  23. Great info. Exactly the feedback I was looking for. Thank you.
  24. I'm thinking of buying a St. Croix 7'6" ml/xf spinning rod. I haven't decided which series yet. I want it to throw 1/16oz with reasonable distance. I wanted to ask you guys about the tip on this length and action. Is it a soft tip? Usually a longer Rod with an XF action the tip will be softer over a longer distant than a rod shorter. Is this the case with this blank? Basically I'm looking for the blank to load a little deeper than a 7' XF. Any other feedback would be appreciated. It doesn't matter which series, from the Bass X to the Legends. Many thanks.
