Merc Black Max 200 Efi Problems
Correct me if this is the wrong forum for this. Problems: 1. Start the day (45 degrees) and the rpms go up to 6k+ at slow speeds. After a while(warming up and placing it in forward, neutral, reverse, etc) it seems to correct itself. 2. End of the day (55 degrees and raining) started driving back, the motor would only get up to 10 mph, no get on plane with pedal fully down. Almost felt like it was flooded, but would stay the same rpms and speed, not bog down more. I stopped for 10 minutes, tried again and it worked fine Where would you start? I replaced spark plugs, fuel filter. - Should I drain gas to use in lawn mower and try that first? - Should I wrap the priming bulb to make sure it isn't leaking? Thanks in advance.

How Do You Eat Your Bass?
Tlaz, You would rather totally waste something, than eat it??? That doesn't make sense to me. By catching it, you caused it's death, so you might as well make up for it by consuming it. Why ?

How Do You Eat Your Bass?
I was told by my bass club that my outboard would blow up if I ate bass. I take my mom and aunt for deep smallies(delicious) and keep 2 12"s each trip between the three of us. We don't know of another fish that tastes better other than sturgeon. We love filets, but prefer skinning and cooking to save more meat. Key: remove the fat and dark areas of meat. It tastes gross!

Old Fish Spit Baits Quicker???
Very true. No arguments here.

Old Fish Spit Baits Quicker???
I was assuming the older a fish is, the bigger it is than others in the same body of water. I see what you mean by "big" not "old" If this is indeed true, than today on the lake, that is why I only caught 3 keepers all day The others must have all been monsters! (or perch)

Braid For Medium Action Rod?
I tried the 20# PP, but it was birds nesting to bad for me on my BPS reels. I went to 30# and don't have as much of a problem. I'm fairly new to baitcasters though.

Old Fish Spit Baits Quicker???
I was watching some youtube clips and the guy mentioned that older big bass will spit the bait quicker. How on earth does anyone know that? Did they see it? If they do spit it quickly, you don't catch them, so how do you know it was a big bass? Sight fishing maybe???

St. Croix Mojo Slop-N-Frog Rod
I use the Legend tourney Spinner Bait (MH/F) and love it. Light, and feels just right, however, I am new to frogs and not very experienced. Take it with a grain of salt.

Working In Reno. Looking For Fishing Partners Within A Couple Hours
Hey Kevin, If you are going to fish the big 2 (pyramid and tahoe) the guys I fish with say to get a deep v aluminum. Gets windy and big waves considering the size of the lakes. As for bass, there aren't many except at stampede and hidden at tahoe. I will pm you when I get to go fishing in the next month or so.

WRB, Same lake. Bruneau arm is great in hot weather due to shallow areas with lots of vegetation. I will check out those lures.

Best Baits For Suspending Bass 20-40Ft In Cold Water?
FNI, Thanks. I read to use smaller than normal baits in cold. Is that true? If not, I will use some 10" worms!!! As for A-rigs, we can't use them in tourney, so I am avoiding them. I might try them just to see if those big fish under the boat are LMB, since nothing else is working.

Best Baits For Suspending Bass 20-40Ft In Cold Water?
Oh! Ladders. Haven't tried one yet. Mostly fly fishermen, but some spooners do it too. We just go where there is 20' or less of shallow witha steep drop past that.

Best Baits For Suspending Bass 20-40Ft In Cold Water?
Thanks J. Tom, sounds good. I have mainly larger spoons used for lahontan cutthroats in Pyramid Lake NV. I need to get some 1/2 oz. I will be able to try again in a couple weeks for a tourney. I'll keep you posted.

Best Baits For Suspending Bass 20-40Ft In Cold Water?
Didn't take my spoons Next time. I only have 6 very light spinnerbaits. Need to get some heavier ones. Don't have any swimbaits. Just getting started, so I guess I need to get some.

Cannot Find Largemouths!!
Slight exaggeration Caught 20 today. I need to learn to catch LMB, because I am horrible at it. We do 4 fish at our local tourneys and 2lb smallies don't win many tourneys

Best Baits For Suspending Bass 20-40Ft In Cold Water?
Tried that with my drop shot, but no luck. I wacky rigged a zoom worm and fluke(separately).

Best Baits For Suspending Bass 20-40Ft In Cold Water?
Can't get a LMB to bite for anything, but I think I am finding schools of my DF. What is the best bait to fish suspending bass from 20-40ft with 45'+ bottom? I tried lightly weighted double flukes, but they wouldn't cast very far. If I weighted them more, they would descend to fast. Tried cranks, but my bombers only go to 14'. Tried spinnerbaits, but they were either to light, or I added a bullet sinker to the front for longer casts and descend a little faster, but no luck. Thanks again guys.

Cannot Find Largemouths!!
Went fishing at a local lake in Idaho(cj strike). Here are the details: - Water temp 40-41f - Outside air temp 42-52f overcast - Barometer 3000 Found every small mouth in the lake around the rockpiles in 30-40ft of water with football heads and a baby brush hog. Tried spinnerbaits, deep cranks, double fluke and drop shot. I fished the bedding coves and out to the 40' depths, no luck. Had tons of bait fish on the DF, but couldn't get the big fish to bite. Is it just to cold? Did my homework and read up on LMB patterns before I went, but no luck.
