  1. A casting rod is fished with the guides pointing up, and the reel sits on top of the rod. It has a knob that goes between your fingers for a tight grip. A spinning rod is fished with the guides pointing down and the reel sits under the rod. There is no knob that goes between your fingers on spinning rods. The two rod types are meant for different types of reels. Casting rods are for baitcast or spincast reels, and spinning rods are fished with spinning reels.
  2. I've been on Advair 250/50 since I was about 8 years old and haven't needed to be hospitalized due to asthma since going on the Advair until last night, which I found out isn't asthma related. Normally I need my rescue inhaler at most once a week, but I always carry it on me because I never know what's going to trigger my asthma and it's a security thing. Always works almost immediately. That's why I knew it was time to go to the ER when the rescue was doing absolutely nothing. They discharged me but not sure that was a good thing because even as I type this I'm really struggling to breathe.
  3. Certainly is scary not being able to get a full breath, and that's why I finally made the decision to go to the ER yesterday. They told me because my inhaler has not been working and they didn't here any wheezing that this may not be asthma related. They found some fluid around my left lung which made the doctor think possibly pneumonia. They prescribed an antibiotic and discharged me. Now it makes sense that this wouldn't be caused by asthma because my whole life my inhalers always worked in a matter of minutes until this latest issue that's been going on for a couple weeks. Every breath has been a struggle and I haven't been able to even fish because of it. It sucks that I missed the hot pre-spawn action but health obviously is more important.

Where are you in NY? I recently found an amazing BBQ place 2 minutes from my job that sells amazing BBQ. They smoke all the meats that morning and when they sell out they close down for the day. And they sell out almost always it seems, as I've called them for an order at 2pm and they'd already sold out. The two guys who own it are from Memphis, so they know what they're doing lol. They do brisket, pork and chicken and all the fixins. The pork is my favorite. Melts in your mouth and lots of smoky bark on it. And they have the best mac & cheese I've ever had and also make several kinds of their own sauce. It's called the Memphis King in Schenectady. Wherever in NY you are I'd say it's worth making the trip. Puts any other BBQ I've had to shame. Now I really want some lol
  5. Any other asthma sufferers on the forum? I type this from the emergency room. I've had a real bad flair up the last couple weeks, and finally made the decision to go to the hospital as my rescue albuterol and the steroid I was prescribed has not been working. Ive had asthma since I was a young child, but until a few weeks ago it's always been controlled by my rescue inhaler and the daily controller. So if there are any other asthma sufferers here, what kind of treatments have your underwent and what kind of medication do you take? Have you ever had a time where your rescue inhaler stopped working?
  6. For me it's impossible to decide. I can see both teams winning easily, but I can also see it going to 7 games. I'll give the slight edge to Cleveland because Klay Thompson hasn't been good these playoffs on the offensive end and Curry's last 2 finals haven't been great. Of course having Durant will make it easier.
  7. How is your hook-up ratio with the Jawbone frogs? The angle of the hooks differs a bit from other frogs and I'm curious if this adversely affects the hookset.
  8. Fenwick Eagles come in a 2 piece casting. Decent lower budget rod.
  9. Booyah Pad Crashers are where it's at for me. Very soft, collapsible body and they make a popping and Jr version.
  10. Celtics are getting away from what they were doing to get the lead. They started going all iso-ball or the only ones moving are the ball handler or the the guy setting the pick and all they've gotten were quick shots and bad looks. Have yourself a game Kyrie. Wow.
  11. Boston is looking good. Good ball movement and it's leading to open looks. Cleveland better tighten up their D if they want to finish the Cs in 5. Boston is a really deep team. So many solid rotational players and most of them are active on both ends of the floor. Lots of depth at the wing. But even if they somehow manage to get by Cleveland, GS is gonna spank them. The Warriors defense isn't porous like the Cavs.

  13. Rapalas are a great value, and they are usually less than $10. The Skitter Walk, DTs, X-Raps and Rattling Raps are all great lures at or under $10. For soft plastics with value, I think Zoom is the way to go.
  14. Just a cheap pair of Kobalts. Gets the job done.
  15. TW is going to start carrying McDonalds nuggets now.
  16. Those 29 points per game are the solution to the very problem that his defense creates. But playing against an offensive juggernaut like Cleveland, it doesn't work which has been proven clearly this season. Even when Boston played Cleveland a day after moving into the 1-seed, they got blown out. It's not just that he is a bad individual defender, the whole Boston team plays worse defense with him on the floor and it's not even close. And yes, there has been tons of offensive oriented, poorly defensive players but with Thomas it's more than that. If you pay attention to advanced metrics (which I do) you'll find that he is historically bad on defense. Boston could get by playing most of the teams in the East, but against an offensive juggernaut like Cleveland it simply doesn't work. Not for 35+ minutes a game anyway. His niche is as a 6th man of an offensive team such as Houston. Somebody who can come off the bench and drop 20 when the starters go out.
  17. I've literally never found a bug spray that works.
  18. Amazing what the Celtics can do when they don't have to make up for the lack of defense from Isaiah Thomas who is their "best player". They are a better team with him off the floor. They should try to trade him while his value is high.
  19. I'll start heating the oil.
  20. Sure seems like he could play at this level for several more years, considering he is 32 and arguably playing the best basketball of his career. Maybe the best basketball of anyone's career lol
  21. Don't overlook the Silver Max either. Even though it's a step under the Pro Max, I prefer my Silver Max over my Pro Max.
  22. I have one and have thrown it a few times. Haven't spend much time actually fishing it though. Like you said, if you remove the bottom treble it becomes pretty weedless. It's a cool bait and definitely causes commotion in the water. I'm sure I can get a bass on it this year.
  23. Remeber though, about a month ago, Durant-less Golden State completely dismantled the Spurs IN San Antonio. But it's a pretty safe bet they would have lost game 1 had Kawhi not gotten hurt. I think the Warriors would have rebounded game 2 whether he was playing or not though.
  24. He could probably get to the basket at will against 7 footers back then too. I'm not a fan of some of his antics, but there is no denying his place in the sport as one of the best of all time.
  25. LeBron James is a man amongst boys in this league. It's insane
