Got my biggest of the year this morning. This fish was on the thin side, but it had a giant head and mouth and was 21.5" long. Got her on a LiveTarget popper. She just barely sipped it in with no blow up or boil.

Got into some really big bluegills over the weekend. Had a blast with the ultra-lite tackle, and we were reeling in gills this big every cast.

15 pound Berkley Big Game is what I use.

Don't have any experience with those models specifically, but I do primarily fish Fenwick rods. I use Elite Techs, Aetos, Eagles and the Methods travel rods. All are great rods at their price point. You can buy Fenwicks with confidence, they make great sticks.

I'm a big Pflueger Pfan. I have several Pflueger reels, both casting and spinning, and I love them all. For spinning I have Presidents, Supremes, and a Trion and for casting I use the Supreme XT and President XT. All of them perform excellent. The President XT at only $80 is a sweet reel.

It's amazing how confidence can make a lure produce.

This year it's been a spinnerbait, followed closely by a jig and craw. In years past, my most productive has always been a wacky rigged senko.

Heck of a fish! Seems like the big bass always have the smallest top water strikes. They just sip it in! Also gotta love those Pad Crashers!

Definitely didn't see the PG trade coming, not to OKC anyway. Certainly makes things interesting. Im curious how Westbrook's game will be affected. I was really surprised to see Iguodala talking to other teams. I thought for sure he was a lock to re-sign. Rudy Gay makes sense for the Warriors as a 6th man if Iggy signs elsewhere, but would they have enough cap room to sign him? He could command a bigger contract if he signs somewhere else I would imagine. I was disappointed to see Rubio traded away from my T Wolves, especially for them to then sign what seems like a significant downgrade in Jeff Teague. He is a better shooter/scorer, but Rubio is a good defender, the best passer in the league and after the all-star break last year, he averaged over 15 PPG on the best shooting of his career. They should have more than enough scoring with KAT, Wiggins and now Jimmy Buckets. They need defense and facilitation, two things that Rubio provided. Im not too down on Teague, he's a decent scorer and an ok passer. I just don't see how replacing Rubio with him makes sense for the Wolves.

Paul and Harden make one hell of a backcourt. Suprising to me though considering how much success Harden had at the point, and now he'll move back to the 2 spot. Seems like the Rockets could have used Blake Griffin more than Paul?

My first confidence bait was a wacky rigged 5" Yamamoto Senko-Watermelon/black fleck. As a kid, this is basically all I would throw. I still keep a rod with a 5" senko tied on in the boat, but it has become my sight-fishing or dock skipping bait. If I see a bass cruising near the boat, I will always flip a senko at it. If I drift by a dock, you can bet I'm skipping a senko under it.

Makes me so happy to see the Chicago Flubs NOT in first place.

Netbait Paca Craw is starting to replace the Rage Craw as my favorite for both T-rigging and as a jig trailer.
