Who Here Night Fishes Guntersville??
This is a little bit of a late report but me and a buddy came down a couple weeks back to fish the big G. We started at 7AM on a Monday and managed 1 fish. Went back to the hotel about 3pm scratching our heads and cooling off in the pool. We decided to go back for some late afternoon/evening action and it was like a different lake. We pulled up on a spot about 16-18ft of water on a grass line and I caught a 4lber on the 2nd cast. From then until approximately 1am we probably put 30 fish in the boat and all but 2 of them were of great quality. Best 5 fish went 29.5lb and biggest was 8lb. Maybe we just hit the jackpot but it was the craziest, most furious, awesome fishing I've ever done in my short time that I've bass fished. Is it always like that down there?? Did we just get lucky?? I haven't done anything but think about coming back and now I hate my home lake LOL! Anyway, it was a great time and we are coming back later in July. 10" worms and 1/2 oz black/blue jig with a pit boss trailer was the ticket! We fished the next night as well but a big lightning storm ran us off the water and we only got to fish an hour but had 4 in the boat....3 of them over 4.5lb. This lake is crazy.

Lake Guntersville Anglers
Me and a buddy made the trip down to KY to do some night fishing. Man was it awesome! Best 5 went for 29.5 and big fish just under 8. Found a grass line and they were stacked in there like stove wood. Heading back down end of this month is the plan. Love that place!

Guntersville
Good luck! I went for the fist time back this past Nov and fell in love with that lake. Caught a ton of great quality fish. Had so much fun I went back the very next weekend! Caught my PB 7.5lber on the second cast! That lake is crazy when you find the fish! I've been a total of 5 times since Nov. Enjoy!

Florida Fishing Next Week - First Time - Need Advice!!
Thanks for the help. I made contact with a reputable guide in the area. One of my co-workers referred him since he's a family member so I should be good to go. If the weather will cooperate maybe I can catch 'em!

Florida Fishing Next Week - First Time - Need Advice!!
My wife and I are planning an excursion to the Orlando area next week. We have some family down there so we are going to stay for several days. I want to plan at least one day on the water. We are staying in the Winter Park area which is close to several great lakes. So if you had to pick one lake to catch some quality fish on or a trophy bass where should I go?? Toho is minutes away. The big "O" is a more than a 2 hour drive. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Guntersville Guide ?
I've been out with Jim Leary with www.guntersvillebassguides.com 4 times and have never been disappointed. Check out my last trip out with him in this thread: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/131061-guntersville-warning-pictures-of-big-bass/ We caught a 30+ lb bag when hardly anyone else could get a bite. It was crazy! We're going back the 2nd week of March for more!

Help! Lake Guntersville Late March Trip?
I agree with plumworm.....if you are making a trip of it go ahead and budget for at least half a day guided trip. It will make it much more enjoyable and will greatly increase your chances of catching fish. Now to answer your question the grass may be back in late March so fishing a Caroline rigged lizard or throwing the Rattle Trap would still be a good option. Check out my Guntersville post in the fishing reports section and PM me if you want info on the guide I use. I've been on 4 trips with him and we've always caught quality fish (over 7lber's two different times). Good luck! Daniel

Guntersville - Warning! Pictures Of Big Bass!
I was able to get down to Guntersville this past weekend with my buddy Jim. This was my 4th trip with Jim and he didn't disappoint! We were able to catch some solid fish off the main lake grass with rattle baits. We had two fish over 7lbs, a 6lber, two 5's and some smaller ones around 3ish. Needless to say we were pumped! I'm looking forward to my next trip. The Classic is gonna be awesome this year on Guntersville!

Ky Angler - I'm Addicted!!
Hey everyone. New guy here from Bowling Green, KY area. I just started bass fishing last year and I'm absolutely head over heels for it. I've bought 2 boats in the last 7 months (just sold one this past weekend!) and I fish every chance I get. My addiction has gotten worse since I heard about a little place called Lake Guntersville. I was able to go down in the fall and we absolutely killed them and since then I've been back 3 more times!! I just got back from G-ville from over the weekend so I'll put some pics up in the fishing reports section. See ya around! Daniel
