New Ga State Record Brown Troug
I was surprised it came from the chattahoochee river. I thought it would be somewhere in north Georgia. That river is nasty, it runs through atlanta. You can get sick just from being in the water let alone eating a fish from it.

Ben Parker Spoon
Mimics a dying shad fluttering down. I've heard of people hopping it and stroking it. I recently got a 4in flutter spoon I intend to try out from lake fork tackle.

What Did You Catch Your Pb On?
Rapala DT10 demon color. Got all of the DTs in that color now. Got turned onto it after the bass master classic.

Buzzbaits
I fish a heavily pressured chocolate milk clarity lake and the only buzzbait that seems to work is one with a clacker. Threw the cavitron black/red blade a few outings with no success, switched to clacker and getting multiple hits. Fickle bass we got here.

Which Spook To Start With
I have had luck with the one knocker spook in foxy shad. I have a lucky craft gunfish in baby bluegill rigged up for my next outing though. Haven't seen too many top water hits at my fishing hole this summer, but I figure I might just go for it for fun.

New To Kayak Bassin
I also take 3 rods. I would get an anchor trolley, it makes if a lot easier to manage boat position when you find a nice spot. Since you're in a river you might want to consider using a drag chain anchor for safety. Don't want a claw anchor hook on something in heavy current. Might want to consider a 20 or 30 ft retractable dog leash as an anchor line so you don't have rope hanging all over your kayak when you want to use the anchor.

Water In Kayak Hull After First Trip
What you can do is spray it with a hose and see if that's the point that the water is entering. Mine has zero leakage.

Heritage Angler 12 Kayak/native Redfish 12
I've got the redfish 10 and I really like it. If you're looking for rigging ideas I put the anchor trolley on the left hand side so I could use the paddle keeper as a stopping point for the trolley rope so it wouldn't run up too high. Could do it on the other side and install a cleat and use it the same way. I really like the mid hatch, it made it really easy to install mighty mounts with fullback plates just behind the seat for some ram tube rod holders. I put a gt90 gear track by yakattack with fullback plate to the right of my right foot peg to mount a transducer arm for my fish finder. Also put another mighty mount and fullback plate just above the cup holder to hold my fish finder console. I'll try to remember to take some pictures tomorrow. I've stood in it briefly to fish, I prefer sitting down and not risking losing my gear, but some people are really good at doing that kind of thing. Almost forgot, put a milk crate in the back to hold my tackle box trays and other random items. I zip tied a big game retractable rope set up, similar to a dog leash, to my milk crake so that I can use it as my anchor rope and not have a mess of rope in my way when fishing.

Looking For My First Kayak.
Perception pescador ($550 MSRP) or native watercraft redfish ($500 MSRP). The pescador actually uses a hull design that one of the older wilderness systems kayaks used to use, so you get a lot for what you pay with the pescador. The redfish is about 15 lbs lighter if you are concerned about being able to carry it yourself, although there are kayak carts you can use to roll the kayak to the car or onto the roof

Fishing From Sit Inside Kayak?
If weight is an issue I would suggest the native watercraft redfish 10. I will say it's not very fast, but it has been a nice fishing kayak. I got it originally because it is light (46 lbs)and small, which is great because I live on the 3rd floor in an apartment. I have carried this thing up and down the stairs to my car alone several times and I'm 5'6 140lbs. Recently got a trident 11 so my wife and I can go together now, definitely can feel the weight difference.

Just Joined The Curado I Club
I just picked one up a couple weeks ago. I like my 200g6 a lot and I was skeptical of the new adjustment dial, but it works well and let me dial in my lures to avoid backlashes.

Where can I find these?

St Croix Premier.
I have the 6'6 med spinning. It has really served me well. The grip is really comfortable, balance is spot on, and has good sensitivity. Haven't missed a hook set yet on my t-rig zoom worms, which is mostly what I use this rod for. Some people value the triumph more since it has the same rod blank just with different guides and a lower price.

Holding Bass With Treble Hooks In Mouth
I second the fish grips. I keep a pair handy, good to have if you happen hook something you weren't targeting as well that you can't lip.

All Pro Rods
I've got a hercules ii by APR 7 foot MH that I really like. I got it during the Black Friday sale. It has served me well, the fast action tip is really nice. On one day I was able to catch a 6 pounder and 1 pounder on the rod and north times I was able to feel the strike immediately. I plan on picking up an APX rod in the not too distant future.

Keeping It Simple
I suppose what I meant is that with a baitcaster it's more easy to control the release of the line, which makes it easier for me to be accurate. Additionally, a small baitcaster can hold heavier line than a small spinning reel. For example, my penn 2000 can't handle 15 lb fluorocarbon like my curado 200g. I do agree that there are spinning reels that can handle heavier line, although they must increase in size.

Kayak Jerk Bait Fishing
I fish out of a kayak as well, if the side swipe movement doesn't work well for you perhaps try sitting in a squatted position. Should give you some elevation and it's pretty stable. Might not be able to stay in that position for too long, be mindful of how it feels and pay attention if your back or knees start hurting. I like to use that position for when I want to see a little better when paddling through shallow water or around downed logs.

Keeping It Simple
Other colors of worms I have confidence in are zoom u tail green pumpkin magic, junebug, and red shad. Bait casters have the advantage of being more sensitive, accurate, and can hold heavier line.

Fishing Pressured Lakes
I agree with the others who say deep structure. A couple of weekends ago I was fishing a lake with a buddy that is really pressured. We pulled up the fish finder and saw some good ones hanging out in the middle of the channel and started fishing. Within 10 minutes four boats flew buy us power fishing the banks and logs. Sure enough a 6 pounder went for my DT10 crankbait and the other 4 boaters were just gawking from the banks as we took pictures and released.

Secret Weapon Lures
I have a few, I really like how the arm is flexible instead of rigid. I don't feel the need for a trailer hook since the bass catch the rear hook if they hit the blades since the blades will just get out of the way. It's also nice to be able to change out the blades if the bass are missing the lure to see if they get more keyed in on a different blade color. The sidearms are kind of neat, but I haven't given them as much of a workout.

Screen Names
I chose mine because it is a discreet play on my inner psych nerd. It's for rational cognition, which is the premise for many psychotherapy theories. Rational beliefs lead to rational feelings and behavior. Cognitive behavioral therapy is built upon this idea and it's a form of treatment that has been proven effective many times over. I'm sure that's not what most people think of when they see RatCog.

Need Rod And Reel Opinions
I really like my shimano curado g6, but if you're on a budget the daiwa Laguna is pretty nice for the price.

What Are You Doing Until The Ice Thaws?
Randomly buying fishing lures and rigging the kayak. Thinking about adding a fish finder to this puppy.
