Screen Names

This question may get no answers at all, but I get curious at some of your screen names. What is the story behind them. Some are self explanatory. A lot are not. Why did you choose the name you have?

Mine, Hootibenji, well, in grade school I had a friend, whom we all thought looked like a cross between an owl and Benjamin Franklin, hence, Hootiebenji. My name is in memory of my little buddy.

Long story about how my mother took my daughter on a little weekend vacation.  My mother was on steroids at the time for some

condition and crapped her pants.  Whoops.  My daughter who was about 7 at the time called to tell me and ever since then I have

used CYP for everything.

Man, I wish I could find the thread started a few years ago titled something like "What's Your Handle" and was about 8 pages long of how peeps decided what their screen names should be. But anyway, it's a great topic!

I fished T's in a club for quite a few years before I got out of them and jig fishing was a great bait for me. There was quite a few years that had elapsed that, for some reason I had al but abandoned the jig. The year I joined BR was the year I rededicated mystelf to using a jig again and hence, Jigfishn10. Turned out to be the year I caught my PB, which has since been broken, but it made me wonder why I stopped using them in the first place!

Funny you brought this up Hootie, just explained mine the other day to Ron while placing a order.

When I first got into bass fishing, I was a coangler with the guy my mom was dating at the time.  Not being able to fish cranks effectively at the time, along with my boaters tendancy to move a lot led to me throwing a lot of spinnerbaits.  I was just learning the baitcaster the time along with a heavier mono line.

Well who likes to retie right?  Not this cat.  So, throwing a spinnerbait without retying= $5 bucks going splash in the lake.  Learned a lot that year, but the most important was how to quickly tie a knot you trust.

McAlpine because we live on the McAlpine pool of the Ohio river, upriver of Louisville.

Started fishing a local jackpot tourney on a 10hp limit lake about 15 years ago. Everyone ran small aluminum rigs like Bass Trackers and such, all with 10hp engines. Even though we were all in small rigs, the competition (especially the bragging rights) was just as fierce as the larger tourney circuits. As a joke based on the thought of sponsorships at that level, my partner and I started calling ourselves "Team 9.9" (after the engine size we all ran) , similar to guys now who might be part of a pro-staff group such as Team Triton, Team Lew's, Team Daiwa, etc. Anyway, "Team9" stuck, and I've used a version of the nick ever since. We even got personalized plates for the tow vehicle with the name so guys would know we were on the water when they pulled into the parking lot  :)

I was on an oldies music forum several years ago and used the screen name, "Juan Motime".

Hootie

My name is Patrick and P-Bizzle was just something I did at lunch one day to make fun of all the guys at school who try to be "thug", but it's stuck with me. Now everyone at school calls me P-Bizzle.

Mine was my radio designator when I was a Deputy Chief. I started using it then and have kept it in retirement.

I think you're right. The one I'm thinking of was started by bill lee, I believe he was a mod at one time.
