Our family purchased a new fish\ski boat(smoker craft Ultima 172 115HP 4 stroke) We are looking two different gps/fishfinder units. Lowrance Elite 7 Chirp 83/200khz n 455/800. with the lake insight pro chip. or Humminbird 859ci HD DI KVD with the Navtronics+ chip. Both are the same price. Any information would be greatly appreciated. This will be my first gps/fish finder. Thanks

I'm trying to figure out what knot is used most on swivels. San Diego jam knot, palomar, uni. Any info would greatly help.

Thanks again for everyone's input. I think I am going to start with a certain style (square bill or medium depth) and go that way. It will cost a lot less initially. Can I get away with throwing square bills on a MH/F baitcaster until I can save up for a M/Mod setup?

When it comes to Crankbait rods are medium or medium/heavy power being used? I'm asking because some crankbaits get to 1 oz. My second part is moderate or moderate/fast action? Let me know what you are all using.

I'm looking at putting together a assortment of Crankbaits. I'm looking at the Strike King KVD 1.5(square), KVD HC 1.5(flat side), 4, 5, 6 & 6xd. I want to be able to cover many depths and water color types. The baits listed should get me from 2' - 18'+. Can I limit myself to 6 colors or less of each and be able to cover almost any situation? What colors are a must and what conditions to use them.

I've heard the strike king Elaztech worms dissolve.

Does how fast or slow the retrieve is adjust depth also?

I'm looking at trying out shaky head fishing. So i'm trying to find out what weight shaky heads everyone is using. Searching on the forums it seems to vary between 1/8-1/4 oz. Does the weight of the plastic matter? Does the depth of water matter? Any info would be greatly appreciated. What brand you are using would also be helpful. Thanks

Thank you for all of your answers. My spinning setup is mainly used for finesse. Drop shot and wacky My baitcaster is a all around rod. Jigs, frogs, t-rig, I mainly fish clear to stained water. And the water mainly has a sandy bottom. There is times when there is grass and rocks. I'm leaning toward 10-15# PP with a 8# F leader for the spinning setup. And I'm currently running 15# copolymer on the baitcaster. Hope this will help with more suggestions.

I'm currently running two rods. 1 baitcaster (7' MH F) and 1 spinning reel(7' M F). I am curious what type and pound line I should be using? If braid let me know the pound braid and type and weight of the leader. And if you could add a 3rd setup what would it be? Any info would be helpful
