  1. Not sure but if you get a chance I recommend fishing bow lake around one of the islands or in the cove on the other side of bennetts bridge.
  2. Those are some impressive smallies.
  3. Thats a pretty nice fish man! I have been trying for the last 2 weeks to catch a huge lunker (hes at least 10 lbs) from this farm pond near me. An old timer has been letting me fish the farm pond since I shoveled his driveway when we got 7 inches randomly(gone in 2 days) and he saw a couple of rods in my suv. He looks at me and hes like would you rather have money or fish my farm pond where I have a couple of big boys. Sure enough he walks me down and its like they are taunting me. I have seen 4 really really big ones but the biggest is cocky and he just sits in plain view. I have tried everything but he refuses to bite. Dam old man knew how to hustle. It wasn't even fair negotiations.
  4. Got any pictures of the baits you made Bluebasser86?
  5. I know a couple places not far from there.
  6. You ever fish right behind the lazy river campground? We used to fish the bend where its close to the road on the back side(before it turns back into the woods) and have pulled a couple of 4 pounders out(and the biggest eel of my life) of there. There is also a pond near there thats got a couple of good bass(I haven't fished it in like 5 years tho) in it if you had access to a yak or john boat.
  7. Northwood's easy to get to spots are fished out. You ever go back in the meadows to those ponds out there?
  8. Jenness pond used to be an amazing spot back when I was little.
  9. My grandfather moved to Northwood with my mom/uncle in the late 70s, the very first trip out fishing he caught a 9 pounder in raymond in some random pond. Its on the wall lol.
  10. Seriously, am I the only person who absolutely loves his chatterbaits?
  11. I have a system for bank fishing. I start with the rattle traps then move to the worms(trigged and senko) and then I usually hit up the one bait that never fails me..................my trusty chatterbait. Nothing beats the feeling of walking to some out of reach pond and pulling in monster.
  12. On Northwood lake? CHATTER BAITS!!@!@!@ Trust me on that lol.
  13. Thats classified! Just teasing, shoot me a pm and ill tell you the secret for the river(where you are going) and ill give you a little info on the *spot*
  14. We caught some in a pond almost 45 miles away from the lake that they left(took the stream/river). We then fished the river/stream all the back to the lake and found them throughout.
  15. I love using my spinning reel, I just switched to using baitcasters as a new thing to do. I still love throwing my spinning set ups.
  16. I only get in a canoe or john boat with someone I trust and I only move as far as I know I can in a yak. Way too paranoid about that.
  17. Thats not a bad price, I just can't wrap my head around trying out another round baitcaster but I may see if I can find one around here to mess around with before I buy.
  18. I personally have no preference for grip styles and all that. I grew up just slamming things together and fishing so I can fish with just about any rod style. I just would like to get into swim baits and A rigs because I pretty much have something for any other set up I could throw. The only round baitcaster I have ever liked(i had a calcutta and I used a 500 dollar one from shimano) was the corvalus lol. I actually have one strung up with 65 lb braid but its doubles as my channel cat baitcaster when I am not using it to throw heavy jigs. I actually like the Okuma(looks wise, im a sucker for a pretty rod) so ill see if anyone near me carries them to see how I like them before I buy anything.
  19. Any reels you recommend? I was thinking the curado 300e paired with a iROD Genesis ii series 7'9 large swim bait rod.
  20. Hell yah, I grew up in Northwood but ill let you in on a little secret, your within 5 miles of 2 of the best bass fishing spots I have seen anywhere in the country(one for quality, the other for sheer numbers) If I make it out to NH this summer ill have to show you the one spot because its a pain to get to but I promise you tight lines every cast. Its an abandoned bass hatchery from 30 + years ago.
  21. take your yak out on madbury resorvoir or if you want to have a real good time(if you can get someone to pick you up) start on the lamprey out in raymond and go as far as you can.
  22. Next rod/reel set up I purchase is going to be a set up for larger swim baits or alabama rigs. Can I get away with a set up that can be used for both? Without destroying my bank, whats a good set up people can recommend. thanks!
