I just screwed up, spent way more money then I wanted to and came home with a Patriarch XT 30x spinning reel, now I just need to find a rod for it lol. I ended up getting a revo beast for 175 at the shop. Feels good on the rod. Going to try and hit up a farm pond near me soon

@gulfcaptain that was my original idea but they dont have either at the store near me. Might just wait till my birthday next month for those.

I will check them out, I would love to buy used but the wife gave me a gift card to the local tackle place.

I just got a Duckett Terex 7'0 heavy after enjoying the one my buddy had. Looking for something > 250 that can handle being my chatter bait set up. Give me some ideas fellas

I actually prefer to fish smaller bodies of water.

Lucas pond has a lot of pressure from the local kids. It could have a state record in there, ive seen 8 pounders come out of there. Sadly you can't fish there after dark and its a real shame but the state hates the fact that the bass are in there. The fishing quality has gone down there in the last 5+ years.

Did you report it to fish and game? They take that seriously

I have personally seen some huge bass in farm ponds in NC. I know for a fact that a small dinky pond that I could throw a football across with room to spare near Fayetteville has a 10+ pounder in it. Up north in New Hampshire I have seen some big bass come out of smaller ponds.

I have only ever caught stripers on eels........cut mackerel and rattletraps lol

Fished my spot out in Northwood the other day and saw the biggest hog I have seen up north but no matter what I threw at it............he wouldn't give. I was watching him cruise back and forth for a good 45 minutes and I even pegged him in the head with a jig.............. so disheartened lol Also giving out the location of my spots to a couple more lowkey people. Hit up a secret pond that some friends of friends of some people i know have been putting fish in for years. No one thought they would take but I saw a monster bass spawning and was pretty impressed. I couldn't get it to bite anything i threw but its a good sign.

I am waiting on this specialty remote control boat so i can hook up my go pro to it and get some underwater shots of my spot

Swains has some nice smallmouth in it.

If you are at the spot I told you about try trolling a big heavy spinner bait about 15-20 feet from shore.

I have about 750 bucks to spend. I am thinking a all around spinning rod/reel and 1 baitcasting combo(something i can throw some jigs/chatterbaits/spinner baits in the 1/2 oz to 1oz range). Not looking to break the bank on these but looking for qaulity Whats going in my tackle box?!?!?! I went to the store and didn't know where to start. I mean I had boxex upon boxes of stuff and I am drawing a blank.

I just fished my secret spot up in the northwood area yesterday. Its pretty clear and the fish are hungry.......I mean every 3 casts I was landing 1-3 pounders. I think now that I am back in NH for the next 6 months I am finally going to find the state record I know is hiding in that wretched.

What would you get? I am looking for a good frog reel/rod set up Spinning rod/reel set up for drop shot or small crank baits All around baitcasting set up, small swimbaits/crank baits and chatter baits. I have about an 800 dollar budget.

It looks like I might be in New Hampshire for most of July, so looking for a partner or 2 to hit up my secret spot near northwood. I might drag my john boat out there.

Ok I am alive! I did a bit of fishing last month at my secret spot in Northwood and caught a couple 3 pounders then went home to North Carolina and caught a 7 pounder while fishing for catfish at night with minnows. Should be heading back up to NH sometime this summer.
