Fishermen Friendly Sunscreens?
My wife and I own a small pharmacy. I use our store brand Good Neighbor Pharmacy spray on sunscreen. I like the spray on for both fishing and golf as it keeps my hands from getting messy. I don't like getting my real slimed up with sunscreen and slick hands can be a big problem when swinging a golf club.

Memorial Day Sale 10% Selected Items
Alright, you convinced me to make my first order. I ordered a 5 pack of football head jigs and two colors of rage craw. I am ready to see what all of the excitement is about when it comes to both the rage craws and the Siebert jigs.

Can Braided Line Be Used In A Cheap Zebco Reel?
I would guess that the braid would also eat through the metal plate (not sure what it is called) on top of the spool. You will notice that mono starts wearing a channel though the soft aluminum after moderate use. I would think that braid would be much worse.

Lipless Cranks
Cordell chrome blue back. Inexpensive and consistently produces for me. I see no reason to spend more money for a lure that may or may not work better.

Inline Spinners
Panther Martin is my in-line spinner of choice. I have had my best luck with a black with gold blade spinner.

Giving Up Your Rights To Fish.
It doesn't surprise me. I have a game warden friend here in Texas that is regularly called down to the border because he has greater rights of search and seizure than the other departments.

Line Weight For A Beginner Baitcaster.
Thanks for the advice. I am going to head over to WalMart here in a bit (I hate that place but it's either there or Big 5 which has almost no selection.) to get a lighter mono line for learning. Frank, thanks for the additional advice. I plan to switch to braid once I gain some confidence in my casting. My only experience with a baitcaster was my late grandfather's Abu Ambassador and I learned a lot but was guaranteed to backlash and put it out of commission early on every fishing trip.

Line Weight For A Beginner Baitcaster.
I just bought my first biatcast reel, a BPS Pro Qualifier, and it should be here on Thursday. I will be pairing the reel with a 6'6" MH/F AllStar rod rated for 10-20 lb line. I am assuming that the smart money decision is to learn with mono. What line weight would you recommend I purchase to learn with? Should I go with a heavier line or a lighter one? I will primarily be learning to cast in my yard rather than out on the lake.

Favorite Lipless Crankbaits
I like the Cordell Super Spots and Rat-L-Traps and HATE the H2O Express lipless cranks from Academy.

Rod/reel For My Kids
I use a Mitchell Avocet Gold combo that I got from Wally World with a gift card last year. I'm hoping the rod breaks soon so I can justify buying a new one, but the reel is still going strong and I see no need to buy something better.

Lets Talk About Your Fishing Goals For 2014??
I'm starting small, I just want to catch something. Anything really. I'm new to this and had two unsuccessful outings last year. (After joining this site and doing some research I now know why we didn't catch a thing.)

How To Catch Trout From Bank?
I like to use Panther Martin in-line spinners when fishing moving water and sometimes will use canned corn in a pond or small lake.

How Many Bags Of Soft Plastics Do You Have?
3... I'm just getting started. 1 brush hog, 1 shim-e stick, 1 finesse worm. Looks like I may have started down a long and expensive road.

Bank Fishing Forum
I finally made an account just because of this thread. I am a dad with two small boys in an area where the nearest lake is over an hour away. (It's not known for being a good fishing lake.) We do have access to a couple of small lakes/large ponds where I plan to take my boys fishing as they get older. Time out on the lake can be a great parenting tool, but being a young family we can't afford a boat right now so the oldest, a 4 year old, and I walk around the banks looking for fish. I really appreciate the bank specific advice and will be frequenting this thread in the future.
