  1. A man was stopped by a game-warden in Northern Algonquin Park recently with two buckets of fish leaving a lake well known for its fishing The game warden asked the man, "Do you have a license to catch those fish?" The man replied to the game warden, "No, sir. These are my pet fish." "Pet fish?!" the warden replied. "Yes, sir. Every night I take these here fish down to the lake and let them swim around for a while. I whistle and they jump back into their buckets, and I take em home." "That's a bunch of hooey! Fish can't do that!" The man looked at the game warden for a moment, and then said, "Here, I'll show you. It really works." "O.K. I've GOT to see this!" The game warden was curious. The man poured the fish in to the river and stood and waited. After several minutes, the game warden turned to the man and said, "Well?" "Well, what?" the man responded. "When are you going to call them back?" the game warden prompted. "Call who back?" the man asked. "The FISH" "What fish?" the man asked.
  2. I feel you. In colorado we have to wait until April for the Bass to start biting.
  3. I usually do 6-8 inches.. you want it so the bait is right in front of the bass's face. The bass will more than likely bite something hovering in front of her face more than if its just laying on her bed.
  4. Has anyone been to Grand Lake lately? Hows the fishing?. I heard that the BFL that was held there a couple weeks ago was really rough. Im leaving for an FLW Rayovac tournament on the 27th and was wondering if the bite has gotten any better.
  5. Im going to just stick to fishing lol! Litlle less dangerous..
  6. Creature baits always work well for me on beds. Something you might try is dropshoting a small grub/craw on a bed. I never believed it would work when I was told, but it works really well! Most of my bed fish have come on that rig.
  7. I was debating on buying fluoroclear a few weeks ago but ended up buying the 100% fluorocarbon. Guess I made the right choice!
  8. Check out P-line. They make a florocarcon coated line called floroclear. Ive heard good reviews on it. I think thats about as close as you can get.
  9. You can always tranfer that line to your other rod and put momo on the shimano for topwater
  10. Is your crankbait rod glass or graphite. Because if its graphite, that would be a good topwater rod.
  11. I would throw fluorocarbon on everything but topwater. Maybe just have one rod with mono on it that tou use strictly for topwater. And then another rod that has floro on it and you can use it for everything else. I wouldnt use floro coated monofilamennt because its not invisible and has alot more stretch than regular florocarbon.
  12. Whatever gets the job done! I have a 16 foot aluminum G6 with a 50 HP yamaha motor. Hasn't held me back from slaying the bass!
  13. The most unusual thing ive seen was two deer swimming across the middle of the lake. I think they seriously picked the widest part to swim across lol.
  14. As a co-angler you can hold your own fishing plastics and jigs most of the time. Fishing something different than the guy in the front of the boat is what you need to be doing anyway. BUT, when the reaction bite is ON there is no beating a crankbait. The guys fishing reaction baits are simply just going to beat you. I had trouble getting confidence in those baits also, but trust me, once you do, youre not going to be able to put em down.
  15. I usually stick to something that resembles the color of the jig. For example, ill match a Pb&J jig with a green pumpkin and purple trailer. Although, when the water is dirty, i might add some chartreuse dye to the end of the trailer just to give it a little flash.
  16. Great video! Thanks for sharing.
  17. I just bought a couple of Livingston Lures square bills, but haven't used them yet. I have heard mixed reviews on these lures so i'm not really sure what to expect. Have any of you guys used these? How do the compare to other crankbaits?
  18. Its always great having your first bass being a good one! Congrats
  19. Giving your conditions, i would agree that the fish are most likely still staging. I would just try and find points where the channels swing up on them really close.
  20. I'm lucky my dad introduced my to this great sport at a young age. Good luck next time!
  21. Oh okay. My advice would be to find 45 degree angled banks. Fish them with everything from a jerkbait to slow rolling a crankbait or shad rap. If you get no bites on reaction baits slow it down. Switch up to either a jig or shakey head and just drag the banks really slow. You should be able to pick up a few doing this. Hope this helps! Good luck!
  22. Dripping springs as in the one on Grand Lake?
