Crappie Sizes?
A 13" Crappie would typically weigh around a pound. Still a GREAT fish. We catch a lot of crappie in the spring, and the largest we've boated was just less than 18"and weighed 3 pounds, 3 ounces.

MARCH MADNESS
This has been an AWESOME tournament. I've enjoyed watching the Big East go down in flames, but I suspect WVU might be the team to beat; great defense and just enough offense. On the other side of the bracket I'm rooting for Butler, but would never bet against Izzo.

Gosh Darnit, Yall did it to me again!
It's because you vote for the wrong people and worship the wrong God. Just trying to keep your streak alive.

How long is your "day" on the water?
There is no typical day for me. Much of my schedule is determined by what the kids have going on. If I can sneak away for an hour, great. If I bring a kid along we usually float around for between 4 and 6 hours, depending on if we're catching. The best days are when they're begging to stay longer.

P-line Floroclear
You guys have had better luck with Flouroclear than I have. I had 8# on a spinning outfit and it just kept breaking. I've since switched to 6# CXX and am impressed at how strong this line is.

I bought a cheap rod today
I just love luckycraft, nicer end reels and nicer end rods. I only buy them if I can afford them at the time. I like quality equipment, and if one day I start making good money I will move from the decent stuff to the absolute best. I'm a bit of a collector too, so I really can't stand cheap crap from walmart. Said the guy in the Barbie sunglasses.

Vision XLT...
I don't need another reel, but I want one. I'm very happy with the Pinnacle Extant HS Metal that I picked up a few years back, and I like the looks of the Pinnacle XLT; matte finish, metal frame, 13 bearings. I also like what I'm reading on this forum from and about Pinnacle. My question is doesn anybody here use this reel? If so, what do you think of it?

Anti virus suggestions
Agreed! Used to use Norton, but it let me down twice. Once at work, once on my daughter's laptop. IT guy at work suggested MS Security Essentials (free download) and Malware bytes (free download) and I've never looked back.

Netbook PC
Wife gave me an Asus with a 12.5" screen for Christmas. It's a fast, fun, lightweight computer. I'm very surprised at how well it performs. The battery life is incredible. The wife has a Toshiba with a big screen, but I always catch her using the Asus because it's so much faster.

Berkley Bionix Rods
Charcoal grey, full cork, 9 stainless guides, hook keeper, IM 7 blank. Very similar to a Lightning Rod. Here are a few pics:

Berkley Bionix Rods
I don't think they make them anymore. They were made back in the 80s. Are you sure these were Berkley Bionix? If they have a secret stash of them. I'd for one would like to know. Paul, I don't know if they still make them, but I got mine maybe 3 years ago at Wal-Mart. Wally World is the only place I've heard of people finding them lately so maybe they had some sort of exclusive deal with Berkley?

Berkley Bionix Rods
I've got a 7 FT M spinning version that I use. Fishes more like a medium-light. Love it for finesse fishing, bass, crappie, and white bass. A fast enough tip for soft plastics, but still casts the light stuff well. Fun, versatile rod that's held up well. Certainly worth whatever I paid for it

Asian Carp
Asian Carp are ruining the rivers I fish. You can't catch them with traditional methods (Uncle Leo is the exception). Although tasty, they are next to impossible to clean. They reproduce like crazy and detroy the food chain from the bottom up. These fish grow several pounds a month, crowding out gamefish in the process. Worst of all, there's really no way to stop them. But yeah, if you snag one they are great fighters.

Old Timers Round-up

Packers vs. Cardinals
Wahoo!!! Go Cards!!!
-
Packers vs. Cardinals
Depends on which Kurt Warner shows up. He could throw 5 TDs or turn it over 5 times. I'm rooting for the Cards, but I think Green Bay will win.

Pete Carroll to Seahawks???
And the offending players (Derrick Rose, Chris Webb, OJ Mayo, Reggie Bush, McFumbles, etc...) go on to multi-million dollar pro careers while those left behind get stuck with the mess. The idea that you can have a multi-billion dollar industry whose success depends on unpaid 18 year olds, many from the wrong side of the tracks, and not have it be crooked is naive, and just a little bit silly.

Mayweather-Pacquiao
I still think it's going to happen. Too much money on the table to walk away. Typical boxing B.S.

Alabama/Texas It's Time To Start This Thread
ESPN paid 2 billion dollars over 15 years for the broadcast rights to SEC football. I'm not buying that they are biased toward the Big 10 or Big 12.

RANT
You are right to be ticked. That makes no sense to me at all.

A true pop can
If I run out of cold beer I'll sometimes put a couple of warm ones in the freezer for after dinner. Occasionally I'll forget they're in there. I've had cans pop and bottles break. I've even had it where the cap came off of the bottle and the beer pushed out the top and froze 2 inches above the opening like a beersicle. I really gotta start setting the timer when I put beer in the freezer.
