  1. How cool is that?! Thanks for sharing.
  2. My regular is a 6 Italian BMT on Italian herb and cheese, toasted. Topped with pepper jack, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and black olives. Side order of Miss Vickie's Jalepeno Chips and a Diet Coke. The perfect lunch. Blimpie is a close second for me, followed by Quiznos, then Jimmie Johns.
  3. Congratualations! Beautiful fish and a great picture.
  4. Outstanding fish! I'm glad to see somebody out there is catching. By the way, I seldom fish without swiss cakes.
  5. The world record is 22.25 pounds, so if you catch one bigger than that you're doing good. A better measuring stick for a large bass would be to look up your state's record, then if you catch a bass that's half that weight, you've got a real trophy. In Illinois the record is 13 pounds, that makes a 6.5 pound bass a great fish for Illinois.
  6. The Bionic Blade is a great multi-purpose rod, especially at that price. That said, if I were looking for a BPS rod specifically for spinnerbaits, I'd go for the 7 foot, Medium/Fast Crankin' Stick...on sale for $39.99. Or better yet, one of each.
  7. Tough call. I like to listen to 'Click and Clack' on NPR. These guys will tell you that it's cheaper to repair your car until it rusts away, than to buy something new. But that advice doesn't take into account the pain and suffering involved with a car that can't be trusted and is always in the shop. Figure out what payments on a replacement vehicle will be before you make any decision. Good luck.
  8. Only a couple of pieces? Did it not satisify your taste buds? It tasted like fish mixed with rubber bands.
  9. I'm rooting for Oklahoma, but I'd put money on Florida. It's unfortunate that teams like Utah are eliminated from contending for a championship before the first game is even played. What a stupid system.
  10. Hey Fletch, The Jets didn't make the playoffs this year. His sub-par game on the last day of the regular season was a big reason for that. I'd like to see him keep playing (I hate the Jets).
  11. The two best value baitcasters I've used: 1. Cabelas Prodigy ($79 on sale) 2. BPS Extreme
  12. Whether it's fishing or drinking, I prefer the cheap stuff. Berkley Big Game Mono #12
  13. I fish Rogues and X-raps, and the Rogues are more consitent catchers for me. Sorry, never tried a Pointer. :-/
  14. Good times in Possum Holler. Nicely done.
  15. Lots of good choices here, but I'm sold on Pfluger spinning reels. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better value than the President.
  16. Rod: Just about any stout medium-heavy or heavy rod will do the job. I use Lightning Rods, my buddy prefers Ugly Sticks. Sensitivity and light weight are not big concerns as you're not constantly casting and the bites are not subtle. No need to blow a lot of money on a rod, just use something solid. Reel: I like an Abu 6000 with the bait clicker. Usually I fish with several rods, and I rely on the clicker to let me know when a fish is running. Line: 65# Power Pro braid with a 20lb mono leader. The leader is important as it's easier to break off when necessary. If you're fishing around rocks, just stick to mono. Hooks: Most will suggest circle hooks. I switched to circle hooks this year, but I struggled to overcome my instinct to set the hook. Next year I'm going back to the Mustad wide gap catfish hooks. Bait: If you want those delicious 2 pound channel cats, it's tough to beat chicken livers and nightcrawlers. If you target big flatheads, they prefer live bait. Live Bluegill and large shad will attract the monsters. If you're going after big blue cats, or big channel cats, they prefer cut bait. Around here that means cut-shad and cut-asian carp. I'm guessing any soft-bodied baitfish would work. Get a throw net and practice in the yard until you get it down. Catching live bait and fresh cut bait are key to consistently catching big cats.
  17. Here's a coverage map that shows the projected area covered by Greenville stations after the DTV transition. You should have no problems getting a signal. http://www.fcc.gov/dtv/markets/maps_report2/Greenville-Spartanburg_SC-Asheville_NC.pdf
  18. Hey Preach, Are the 3 snowy channels VHF signals? Many local VHF stations are currently broadcasting their digital signal on UHF frequencies. If your antenna is VHF only, that may be part of your problem. A VHF/UHF combo antenna might be an easy fix. Don't hesitate to call your local TV station with questions. If you tell them where you live they might be able to tell you if you will fall within their digital range. Good luck! Dan
  19. A rod for people with more dollars than sense.
  20. Beautiful rod! I'm thinking seriously about a new g-blanks myself.
  21. My wife saw the video and said I should burn it to a DVD so they could play it at my funeral. I hope she's not planning something.
  22. My problem with NyQuil is that I wake up lightheaded...but it'll definitely knock you out. Reading a magazine puts me out pretty quick.
  23. ;D ;D ;D Now that's funny. Sorry, I've just got the 4 daughters. Sorry...that's about all of the fight I've got on video. My buddy had to stop the camera and put on his gloves to grab the snout. This year I hope to shoot a little more video.
  24. What is that smell!? I know the exact one you are talkin about, and they all smell the same LOL. Plus that super fine glitter is a pain to wash off. I believe it's the industrial strength vanilla spray. I imagine it in a 55 gallon drum, in the back room with an atomizer pump attached to the top of it. Sometimes my own thoughts disturb me... I think it's a compination of baby powder and STDs.
