I'm probably over-simplifying this, but here's a quick frame of reference: Back when oil prices first hit the $86 mark, the average price of gas was $2.76 a gallon. :-/

A friend bought a jon boat that was already modified for bass fishing. The framing for the front and back deck is aluminum, and the deck itself is made out of a synthetic material he called "luma-lite" (sp?) This seems like the perfect material for decking a jon boat. Light, strong, maintenance free and easy to work with. But I searched the internet for the material and could not find anything close. Do any of you guys know where I can find this material, or a similar synthetic boat decking material?

Does the President baitcaster come with the same dual braking system?

No set number. Depends on where I'm fishing and how I'm fishing. Anywhere from 1 to 6.

At least once a week. Sometimes twice. If I'm lucky 3. Not always bass fishing, but always something that swims. Besides a regular 9 to 5, I coach a couple soccer teams, a softball team and a basketball team, so there is no off season...but I have plenty of spots close and all I need is an hour or two to get the monkey off my back.

Pretty basic setup. Heavy gear (spinning or baitcasting) A long rod for long casts Braided line that won't stretch on the hookset Mono leader that you can break off when you need to 2 x 11/0 treble hooks and a 1 oz weight at the bottom Then just cast beyond the fish, reel in the slack and set the hook hard, then just keep repeating. You will break a good sweat. They are tough to land, we probably hooked 12 and landed 2. Snagging is only legal here at certain times of the year. Ever wonder what rednecks do for fun? We snag gar. This one went 51 inches, and 22 lbs. When I hooked him I thought I had a monster asian carp, but then he jumped clear out of the water and gave me the evil eye. The fight lasted a good 15 minutes. We left the net at home, so my buddy put on some gloves and grabbed him by the snout. I had to return the favor when he snagged a 21 pounder a few minutes later. The Missouri record for pole and line is 27 pounds and change...does snagging count as pole and line?...either way, I'm pretty sure I know where bigger ones swim, and now is the time as they are FAT, full of carp and eggs. So what's a redneck do with a gar after he catches it? He eats it of course. It's not crappie, but it aint all bad... Actually, I tried a couple pieces and gave the rest to the dog.

Agreed, but consider the source. These guys weren't even born (ok, Matt was in diapers) when Hotel California came out. You can't expect them to have any sort of perspective or appreciation for what that sound meant when it was new. And I wish somebody would tell my 18 year old that the Eagles are overrated and crappy so she would quit stealing my CDs.
