  1. If your old enough, I'd suggest Ja Rule's first album: Venni Vetti Vecci Every track on the album straight bangs. Brother Lynch Hung has some rather morbid jams, but the bass hits will knock your eyes crooked. As far as electronic music goes, Dj Icey has a couple really good albums that have some great bass tracks. Essential Mix, mixed by Dj Icey. Track 1 has a jammin bass line that jumps in at 1:56. And a few other tracks like 6,7,especially 8,and 10 on the album are incredible for a good system to get some practice. But make sure you get the first essential ellements album produced in 2000. The second one is great too, but not like the first one. Another great Icey Album would be "For the love of the beat." Track 4 is by far my favorite. It has sort of a reggae flavor, but the bass has more of a house breaks type of sound. Tracks 12-14 will rock your bass if you have a truely good system. You can also try some drum and bass such as Dieselboy-The 6ixth season tracks 3-17, and also Ju Ju on the Breakbeat science exercise 002 tracks 2,4,7,12,and 13. If you like house, or disco house, Bad boy bill, and Richard Humpty Vision have some really good tracks on their albums where the bass is just incredible. I used to be pretty heavily in to the party scene in Pittsburgh, but then the scene went splat. I still love the music though. Especially breakbeats, and house.
  2. I feel the same way sometimes. When I get up in the morning BR is the first thing I go to, and the last thing I do before bed. ;D I'll see you at Fork my friend.
  3. You have some excellent advice from everyone who has posted. I consider myself pretty good with topwaters, more so than just about any other lure. When I fish topwater lures, I always start off with a popper using a fast retrieve. I start by casting the lure out and immediatly after it hits the water, start the retrieve with a steady cadence as well as letting it sit after the initial splash down. I will try that retrieve around 5 times before I try a slower cadence, including letting the lure sit for long periods of time between pops. If you get what I call a "slash" where a bass will slap the lure, but not bite at it you need to try one of three things in this order. A different retieve (faster or slower) thats why I start out fast with either more subtle or violent pops, a different size lure, and lastly because I find it usually matters least- a different color lure. If the popper draws nada I like to next go to a spook type lure. Again starting with a steady retrieve, slowely working down to a combination of different twitch combinations. If the spook doesn't draw any strikes, I like to then switch to a jitterbug, and as I said before I vary the retrieve untill I find the retrieve where the fish are comfortable scarfing down my topwater. Alot of people have different clues that they use to clue them into what topwater to start with, such as shad bursting on the surface may signal to you that a spook is a great topwater to throw. If I find that the bass are repeatedly hitting a topwater while Im useing a fast, steady retrieve I will throw a buzz bait. If Im fishing heavy weeds I'll throw either a swimming spoon, or a hollow body frog. For frogs, I prefer the scum frog and the popping scum frog. Mainly because the Bronze eye frog is $7-$8.00 a piece, and that is way to much in my book. Especially since you can get a scum from for around half that price and catch just as many bass with it. As far as torpedos go, I have around 6 different torpedo type lures, and have caught very few bass on them. But that is just me. Other than the above advice, I suggest that you throw topwaters alot more than you already do. Although this time of year isn't the best for topwaters. Don't confine yourself to certain conditions when deciding to throw topwater luresalthough calm and clear, and low light periods are said to be the best times to fish topwaters. I have caught bass at all times using topwaters. Throw them here and there, and whenever you can. Build your confidence with topwaters and soon you'll be pretty good with them. Just remember, you have to find what I call "your own groove". What works for others will not necessarily work for you. So you have to keep throwing topwaters and find what works for you. Keep at it, and never give up with them, you'll get it. And one more thing....... Welcome to the forum!
  4. I hope she doesn't mind, but you folks really wanna see these pictures.
  5. No problem NJfishinGUY, will do. Although the boat was free, I will be spending ALOT of money to get it retored. And thats on top of the batteries, charger, and the usual expenses to get a boat on the water.
  6. No, pork as in "Uncle Joshes pork frogs" You buy them in a little jar. They are shaped just like plastic trailers, but are actually made out of pig. They make a large variety of shapes, sizes, and colors.
  7. [move]Welcome Back![/move] Hopefully most of the active members here can be big enough to accept your appology and post a reply. Glad to have you back. Now watch yo mouth young lady! ;D
  8. Voting anymore has become a race to see who can get the most digs in before election day. As a previous poster said "so i pick out the ones i dislike the most and vote against them". I absolutly don't think this is how voting for the right canidate should be. You should be voting for the canidate who you think will best represent your state, and make the right decisions regarding the state in which he or she is elected to. There is no point in voting anymore. If I wasn't registered, I see no reason in the above posts to become a registered voter. The reasons simply aren't convincing. As Muddy Man said "We need some good independent, non-professional people to start running for office". That is the truth if I've ever heard it!
  9. PA angler, no need to appoligize. I just had no clue what you were talking about. George, nice answer. Thanks for the help.
  10. PA angler, I didn't know that group 26 or 29 batteries existed. I have heard of group 24,group 27 and group 31, but not group 26 or 29. Where would I be able to get group 26, or group 29 batteries?
  11. Try Stamina. They have alot of stuff to get you started. Jann's netcraft is also another site you can try. http://www.staminainc.com/catalog.html
  12. Welcome to the forum!
  13. Absolutley! Bass are oppurtunistic feeders, and will eat anything that looks edible. Do you suppose bass see fat ika's swimming around, or schools of spinnerbaits swimming around?
  14. Sorry Chug Bug and floridabassboy but I highly disagree with you on this one. I was told the same thing and got some Sufix braid on my first BC. I had several times were I got so frustrated from backlashes. The line would dig into the spool, and I'd have to cut the line off because it was so tight and jammed up. I switched to mono and found it atleast 10x's easier to cast, and when it came to pulling out backlashes too. I still have yet to go back to braid due to the horrible experience I had with it before. Soon though, Im getting better. Sufix Siege is probably the best to start with IMO.
  15. Thanks Tom! I really appreciate the help.
  16. Thanks guys for the good condition it is in it still needs a good bit of work. It needs thoroughly cleaned. Outside, and in. Recarpeted the seats all need reupholstered Needs wet sanded, buffed, wet sanded then buffed again. Maybe a new coat of gelcoat too. Once I get this boat done, it will look brand new again.
  17. I want to get my new boat restored to showroom quality. I want to fish with my local Bass Club learning everything that I possibly can. Possibly joining KBBC which is a buddy circut were the top placers get payouts. Begin my journey to the state regionals.
  18. I just got my boat and I need to get some batteries for it. I have a 12v trolling motor, and a 110 Evinrude motor. I believe I will need a minimum of 2 batteries, and 1 charger. I would like to know 2 things. #1 Has anyone on the BR forum ever bought a marine battery from Walmart? I chose Walmart as a reference because it is close, and most of the boat dealers are at least a 45 minute drive away. Convenience is key. #2 What specific class battery should I get?
  19. Here we go! I plan on restoring it to the best of my ability, but it is in good shape for the most part. Last pic is of the trolling motor, and in the backround, you can see the "soft spot" in the floor.
  20. I talked to the guy tonight, and we are meeting at 12 noon Saturday. I'm gettin my boat folks!!! Pics will be up when I get home. Probably sometime after 4pm.
  21. I appologize avid. I have to admit I read your question wrong. I only saw "snap" and "quickly". The norman speed clip popped into my head. I myself do not use them. I prefer cross lock snaps for my cranks, and topwater lures. They hold great too. For knots I prefer the universal knot for most all my other lures. I actually broke a hook before the knot gave way, or the 14lb line broke. Go figure And to put you at some ease avid, I can tie lots of different knots including the blood knot, rappala knot, improved cinch knot, and the one mentioned before, the uni knot.
  22. I would try pitching a 3/8 oz jig into the weeds and try jigging it up and down. Not much, almost just jiggling it up and down. Make sure you have atleast a MH rod, and either braid, or high lb test mono, like 20#, so you can horse that pig out of those weeds. You can also try pitching a senko into the holes in the weeds that you can see. If it is cold where you live, chances are that a topwater lure won't get many or any bass. Atleast that's how it is around Pittsburgh this time of year.
